Insect-Guy from Sonic the Comic #93. Art by Andy Pritchett and colouring by Steve White.

Insect-Guy, real name Norman Nerd, is a character that appears in the Sonic the Comic series published by Fleetway Editions. He is a superhero from New Tek City in the Special Zone, who made a single panel appearance in Sonic the Comic #93.

He was bitten by a radioactive insect and granted super insect powers to fight crime. He was the idol of Richie Rover, a young resident of New Tek City who attempted to emulate Insect-Guy by dressing up as "Insect-Pup".[1]

  • Insect-Guy is a reference to the Marvel Comics hero Spider-Man (real name Peter Parker; coincidentally, both of their real names are alliterations). Their back-stories, costume and powers are all similar.
