Ixis is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is an evil, primordial deity that has existed since the dawn of time, and was worshiped by the troll species.
History[]
Defeat[]
Information about Ixis is scarce: according to Walter Naugus, Ixis was "a primordial force from the beginning of time," and "it was sealed by lesser chaotic forces that had shaped the universe into what it is."[1]
Legacy[]
Despite Ixis' defeat, the Second Great Civilization worshiped Ixis and used the deity's power during their time on the planet. Though almost all of the trolls were wiped from existence due to a great unknown catastrophe, there still remain two worshipers of the dark god, namely Walter Naugus and, to an extent, Wendy Naugus.[1][2]
There also exist wellsprings that house the deity's energy, though they are extremely rare.[2]
Powers and abilities[]
According to Walter Naugus, Ixis possesses power which is much greater and purer than the power of the Chaos Emeralds, capable of unmaking and reshaping the world and all things in it. Ixis is also immortal, with Walter claiming that it has existed since the dawn of time.[1] It can also generate a potent form of dark and ominous energy that causes power-boosts and mutations, much like the Dark Gaia energy.[2]
Trivia[]
- Ixis' name is presumably derived from Ixis Naugus and/or the Order of Ixis' names, both of which were mystics practicing dark arts.
