James the Dragon
"Sonically Ever After"
Alignment and character traits
Skills, abilities and powers
James was brought out of the story by Robotnik and served as Robotnik's fire breathing goon until Sonic remembered the story of The Mouse and the Lion. Sonic pulled a thorn out of James' paw and James was then happy. He sided with Sonic and attacked Dr. Robotnik. From there on he aided Sonic in defeating the doctor and sending all the fairy tale characters back into the story book. When he returned into the book, he said "good bye" to Sonic, revealing that he can talk.
- The Mouse and the Lion (also called The Lion and the Mouse) is an actual Fable by Aesop, in which a lion spares a mouse he wished to eat, who later repays the kindness by freeing the lion from some ropes. However, the tale mentioned in the episode appears to have more in common with the story of Androcles, who tended a wounded lion by pulling a thorn from its paw, leading to the lion becoming tame.
