You may be looking for Jimmy (Sonic the Comic).

Jimmy (ジミー Jimī?) is a character that appears in Sonic Mania. A Moto Bug, Jimmy is the trusty steed of the Heavy Rider, one of the Hard Boiled Heavies.

Concept and creation

Jimmy's name pays homage to the now-deceased Polygon Jim, a member of the Sonic hacking community who was known for making a ROM hack of the first Sonic the Hedgehog game titled Motobug the Badnik in Sonic the Hedgehog where a Moto Bug is the playable character instead of Sonic. It was able to jump by extending its wheel, an ability which would be used by Jimmy during the Heavy Rider boss fight in Sonic Mania.[1]

Appearance

HeavyRiderSprite

Jimmy is a regular-looking Moto Bug from Dr. Eggman's first generation of Badniks. However, Jimmy possesses two distinguishing feature: its large size for a Moto Bug and red rings around its pupils.

During the Phantom Egg boss fight, Jimmy was modified to resemble a bulky motorbike with long tail pipes and thick wheels.

History

Hard Boiled Heavies Green Hill Act 2

The Heavy Rider driving Jimmy while at Green Hill Zone with the other Hard Boiled Heavies.

Sometime after arriving in the Green Hill Zone, the Heavy Rider acquired Jimmy as her steed. The Heavy Rider would subsequently ride Jimmy everywhere she went. After the Heavy Rider got defeated by Sonic and Tails in the Lava Reef Zone though, Jimmy fled the scene.

Eventually, while Sonic and co. fought the Phantom Egg, the Phantom Rider and Jimmy, now modified into a bulky motorcycle, would reappear during the heroes' battle.

Personality

Jimmy is shown to be rather wild and restless for a Moto Bug. Its eyes may also indicate a looney and chaotic nature.

Powers and abilities

Jimmy has proven itself to be faster than the average Moto Bug from his time. He also possesses a telescopic wheel which he can use to make surprisingly high jumps.
