Not to be confused with Knuckles the Echidna (alternate dimension) (Sonic Boom).

You see, the two Knuckleses are polar opposites. One is smart, sophisticated, charming, likeable and a born leader.

Miles "Tails" Prower, "Two Good to Be True"

Knuckles the Echidna is a character that appears in the Sonic Boom series. He is an anthropomorphic echidna and Knuckles the Echidna's counterpart from the Mirror Dimension, where he is the wise leader of his version of Team Sonic.[1]

Appearance[]

Alt Knuckles Boom

Boom Knuckles (left) and Mirror Knuckles (right), from "Two Good to Be True".

Appearance and attire-wise, Knuckles looks exactly like his Sonic Boom World counterpart. As such, he is a large anthropomorphic echidna (over a head taller than Sonic) with red fur that covers most of his body, peach skin on his muzzle, a white crescent-shaped patch of fur on his chest, and purple eyes. He has a rather large torso, broad shoulders and thick muscular arms, making him very top-heavy, and possesses long, if somewhat thin legs in comparison. He also has seven long dreadlock-like spines around the sides and back of his head and a medium-sized, tri-crooked tail.

For attire, Knuckles wears a pair of red and yellow shoes, designed with wrap-like markings, that have green cuffs and grey metal plates on top. He also wears gloves with knuckle-spikes on them and has white sports tape wrapped around his hands, the lower half of his arms and legs, and his biceps, making him similar to a Muay Thai boxer.During his stay in the Sonic Boom World, he also wore a blue party hat with spikes.

History[]

TV series[]

Past[]

For a long time, Knuckles led his team to several victories against his arch-enemy Dr. Eggman.[1]

Season one[]

SB S1E35 Knuckles And..

Knuckles in the Sonic Boom World, from "Two Good to Be True".

During an assault from Dr. Eggman in his Octopus Bot, where Knuckles turned the battle in his team's favor when they fought Rggman and his Octupus Bot, the robot shot two lasers that merged together and sent Knuckles to a place with another version of his team, including a dimwitted version of himself, although he initially paid little attention to the odd behavior of his supposed teammates. Accepting a hat to distinguish himself from Amy, Knuckles sought Dave the Intern's help, believing him to be a genius. When they got to him though, Knuckles was puzzled by Dave's mindlessness, though it helped Tails figured out that Knuckles had been sent to another dimension. Realizing he needed Dr. Eggman's technology to get home, Knuckles recklessly charged into Dr. Eggman's lair in spite of his allies' objections to this behavior to get the technology he needed, only to get captured when he started flickering due to the paradox of having two Knuckles in one dimension. As he continued to flicker in captivity, Knuckles was rescued by Team Sonic who got him back to his home dimension with machines provided by Eggman in time to help his Sonic battle some Crab Bots and keep their dimensions from imploding.[1]

Personality[]

SB S1E35 Alt Knuckles pat alt Sonic

Knuckles petting his reality's Sonic, from "Two Good to Be True".

The polar opposite of his Sonic Boom World counterpart, Knuckles is described as smart, sophisticated, charming, likable and a born leader. Much more grammatically gifted than his counterpart, Knuckles speaks using a wide range of vocabulary and proverbs, the latter which several have noted makes him sound like a fortune cookie. However, he sometimes comes off as a know-it-all, such as when he formally noted Sonic's aggressiveness after he schooled him in pacifism (even though he forced Sonic to act as such). He also has a brave and courageous attitude.[1]

Knuckles is shown to be very modest and has seemingly no sense of shame, as he would gladly wear a silly-looking hat to distinguish himself from his Sonic Boom World counterpart, and even felt proud doing it. He is also very tolerant, showing understanding towards the less capable members of his team. Along with his strength and confidence, however, comes an unstoppable determination and impatience, unlike his counterpart who likes to take his time. Instead of waiting and taking a steady approach to a given situation, he prefers to take action rather than wait around and take charge of a situation himself in order to ensure a favorable outcome. He also shares his counterpart's brash attitude, invading Eggman's lair and smashing his Badniks to get what he wanted. These attitudes together makes Knuckles rather aggressive, according to Sonic.[1]

Powers and abilities[]

SB S1E35 Knuckles super punch

Knuckles' ground pound, from "Two Good to Be True".

Knuckles possesses the same physical strength as his counterpart, capable of creating destructive shockwaves which can send enemies flying by just punching the ground. However, Knuckles appears much more skilled and disciplined in the usage of his strength, as he can not only direct his shockwaves, but also make them powerful enough to knock back hordes of Badniks and Octopus Bot at the same time.[1]

Along with his intelligence and charisma for leadership, Knuckles is a profound hand-to-hand combatant and has a flair for battle ingenuity, such as using hoverboards as projectiles with great accuracy.[1]

Relationships[]

Sonic Boom World[]

Knuckles the Echidna[]

SB S1E35 Two Knuckles One Bro

Knuckles with his Sonic Boom World counterpart, from "Two Good to Be True".

Knuckles the Echidna is Knuckles' counterpart from the Sonic Boom World. Despite this Knuckles being the very opposite to his good behavior, Knuckles holds no ill will at him and enjoyed meeting him. He refers to him as his "dimwitted version."[1]

Sonic the Hedgehog[]

When meeting with the Sonic Boom World's Sonic, Knuckles did not agree with Sonic's passive leadership and would point out when he contradicted himself. By the end though, Knuckles had come to respect Sonic and praised him for his capabilities.[1]

Mirror Dimension[]

Sonic the Hedgehog[]

Knuckles has great patience for his Sonic's clumsiness and treats him with kindness and support akin to what a parent or older brother would show to a child. He refers to himself as a "grown-up" when taking to Sonic.[1]

Amy Rose[]

SB S1E35 I knew you fall for me

Knuckles after saving Amy.

Knuckles acts very chivalrous towards his Amy, taking to her with respect and being there to save her when in need, while kindly teasing her romantic feelings for him. Whether he feels the same way for her is unknown.[1]
