Laser Grabber[1] is an enemy that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a mass-produced, spider-based Badnik model created by Dr. Eggman.

Appearance[]

Based on spiders, Laser Grabbers are the successor of the Grabbers. They have black and green armor and a black head with a yellow face plate, a pair of cyan eyes and black mandibles. They also have four legs on each side of their body, each with a mechanical purple boot.

Overview[]

In the Wii U version and PC version of Sonic Lost World, the Laser Grabbers appear as enemies. In gameplay, the Laser Grabbers are only encountered in Silent Forest Zone 3, where they are usually found in groups. When on standby, they slowly crawl down the tubular routes or ceilings. When the player approaches however, they will leap to the opposing surface of the one they stand on while shooting a vertical laser line in the player direction. These lasers will keep moving forward on their own and will damage Sonic upon touch. However, using this attack leaves the Laser Grabbers stuck on their backs on the surface they leapt to, making them vulnerable to attacks. The player can use the Spin Jump or Focused Homing Attack to defeat them easily. Also, upon a Laser Grabber's destruction, an Animal is released.

Trivia[]

  • Like many new enemies in Sonic Lost World, the Laser Grabbers' name has not been listen in any official source. Instead, it is referred to as "laser grabber" in the game's source code.
