The user keeps their body aloft for a short time by the use of Psychokinesis
Levitation is one of the most basic uses of Silver's psychokinetic powers. When using levitate, Silver uses his innate psychokinetic abilities to shift his own body in any direction, allowing him to float and fly through midair. By using Levitate, Silver can overcome obstables and paths otherwise unpassable to him by normal means, move through midair at extreme speeds nearing those that Sonic the Hedgehog can run at, and give himself a general advantage in a fitting situation.
The drawback of Levitate is that its performance is tied to Silver's own stamina and concentration. If he should start to wear physically out from overuse of his psychokinesis, or lose concentration, it would cause Levitate to end, and Silver to fall from the air.
Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)Edit
In Sonic the Hedgehog, Levitate could be used by pressing the jump button while Silver is already in mid-air. Silver will activate Psychokinesis and remain aloft for a short time. Silver will drop to the ground when his Action Gauge reaches zero. Silver can also move around in mid-air while Levitating to reach otherwise inaccessible locations. Silver can likewise Levitate on objects while he is standing on it by pressing the R1/RT button while he is on top of it.
Silver is first seen using Levitate in the first cutscene of his story in Sonic the Hedgehog, using it indefinitely though, while investigating the Flames of Disaster and later on, levitating at top speed to go find Iblis.
In Sonic Rivals, there is a short cutscene before the main menu appears. In the cutscene Silver is seen Levitating, while Sonic, Shadow and Knuckles are running around. This is the only time Silver is seen Levitating in the game.
Sonic and the Black KnightEdit
Sir Galahad can also use the ability in Sonic and the Black Knight. While it is not usable during gameplay, Galahad can be seen using it during his victory pose, after a Battle.
When fighting against Silver in Sonic Generations, he is levitating the entire time, which requires Sonic to use the homing attack on other levitating objects to reach him.
