Edit
It shows up when Metal Sonic uses his All-Star Move. When activated, the artifact upgrades Metal's speed and his Black Shield attack, greatly increasing it's radius and knock-back power.
Abilities
Edit
The artifact appears to be a powerful energy source, since when Metal Sonic absorbs the artifact, he gains an energy surge. With the orb, Metal Sonic gains several new abilities; an increased dash speed, an augmented Spindash which is capable of destroying a roller coaster track[1], and the ability to generate pillars of electricity and create massive spheres of energy. Whilst charging up these attacks, Metal Sonic is immune to all attacks and cannot be harmed. When using these new moves and powers Metal Sonic gains a magenta aura.
