Colors Trailer, Sonic Lost World

The Magenta Rhythm (マゼンタ・リズム Mazenta Rizumu?) is a transformation for potentially multiple users which appears in the Wii U version of Sonic Lost World. It is a Color Power gained by absorbing a Magenta Wisp and its Hyper-go-on, which turns the user into a musical note.

Appearance

When using the Magenta Rhythm, the user turns into a large magenta-colored eighth note/quaver. In Sonic's chase, his version of the Magenta Rhythm has his eyes and ears on the note head, though his eyes have lost their pupils and turned pale yellow, and his ears have lost their ear canals.

Powers and abilities

When in this form, the user is able to bounce on air, allowing them to move through mid-air in semi-flight.

Gameplay

The Magenta Rhythm can first be used in Silent Forest Zone 2. In gameplay, the player can only use the Magenta Rhythm while in possession of a Magenta Wisp. Transforming into the Magenta Rhythm will cause the Wisp Gauge to start depleting and once it runs out, the user will revert back to normal. To extend its duration, the player has to collect more Magenta Wisps.

If the player is in an area not suited for the Magenta Rhythm, the Magenta Wisp will go dormant (which is illustrated by its icon sleeping), thus preventing the player from becoming the Magenta Rhythm.

In gameplay, the Magenta Rhythm's movements are controlled by the player tapping on the Wii U GamePad screen. By touching a point in the Zone on the screen, the Magenta Rhythm jump there, whether it is on the ground or in the air. While moving around, the player can utilize Music Notes to navigate and for each bounce the Magenta Rhythm makes, the player earns one Ring. When the transformation ends, the player is rewarded with the points that the player earned as the Magenta Rhythm.
