He has composed music for various television commercials and video games such as Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2. He is a bassist and founder of the duo Dreams Come True.
He also worked with SEGA on Sonic Generations, because it featured remakes of tracks that he had originally composed for Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
Nakamura was originally a session musician before forming the "Cha-Cha & Audrey's Project" with Miwa Yoshida. In 1988, they formed the band Dreams Come True. In July 2002, he founded the record company "DCT Records" with Yoshida. They now serve as executive producers. In June 22, 2008, he married Mākii, the 21 year old former lead vocalist of the rock/metal band High and Mighty Color. Nakamura composes many and arranges almost all the songs for Dreams Come True.
