Masher makes its only appearance in Fleetway's Sonic the Comic issue 79's story "Grounded", as being part of Dr. Robotnik's Badnik army. In the issue, a single Masher moves underwater of Aquatic Ruin Zone, attempting to finish off Tails, who got caught by Spider-Moth web and is unable to fly or swim with his tails.
