Matthew Mercer

Matthew Christopher Miller (born June 29, 1982), who goes by the stage name Matthew Mercer, is an American voice actor. He serves as the English voice of Espio the Chameleon, starting from Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.[1]


Since 2012, Mercer has often stood in or otherwise acquired roles from Troy Baker, his predecessor as Espio, due to the latter becoming an increasingly high profile actor. These instances include:

  • Kanji Tatsumi from the Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 series
  • Pain and Yamato from the Naruto series
  • Sigma Klim from the Zero Escape series
  • Valvatorez from the Disgaea series
  • Robin (Tim Drake) in Batman: Arkham Knight
