Megatal is a near-indestructible super metal alloy from Sonic the Comic. It was developed in part by Tekno the Canary, on the orders of Doctor Ivo Robotnik, who used it to create some of his most powerful badniks, including Shortfuse the Cybernik and Commander Brutus.
Super Sonic was once able to rip off Commander Brutus' forearm, but it is unclear whether this was purely because of his Chaos-enhanced strength or because that unarmoured part of the arm was made of a different metal. Nonetheless, Super Sonic's might seems to be the only thing that can actually damage Megatal to any real degree.
- As an indestructible metal, Megatal is somewhat comparable to Marvel Comics' Adamantium.
- Megatal is a combination of the words Mega and Metal.
- In the story "Football Lazy" in Sonic the Comic #133, the name of the metal is misspelled Megatel.
- While it has not appeared in any other continuities, Omega's body is considered to be made out of something similar the Megatal.
