ShortyBrutus

Megatal is a near-indestructible super metal alloy from Sonic the Comic. It was developed in part by Tekno the Canary, on the orders of Doctor Ivo Robotnik, who used it to create some of his most powerful Badniks, including Shortfuse the Cybernik[1] and Commander Brutus.[2]

Description[]

Megatal is incredibly strong. Shortfuse's Megatal armor protects him completely from damage from bullets or flame, and a self-destructing Trooper only caused minor surface scratches.[3]

Super Sonic was once able to rip off Commander Brutus' forearm, but it is unclear whether this was purely because of his Chaos-enhanced strength or because that unarmored part of the arm was made of a different metal.[4] Besides that, the corrosive acid in Gum Tree Fruits have also proven capable of melting through Megatal.[5]

Ronnie Dribble used a Megatal-enforced cell to contain Sonic the Hedgehog, but this failed since he forgot to reinforce the floor of the cell.[6]

Trivia[]

  • As an indestructible metal, Megatal is somewhat comparable to Marvel Comics' Adamantium.
  • Megatal is a combination of the words Mega and Metal.
  • In the story "Football Lazy" in Sonic the Comic #133, the name of the metal is misspelled Megatel.
