Hey Blue, it came to ny attention whilst looking at the user list page that Bullet's bot still has admin rights whilst he himself does not. Those rights need to be removed (User:Bullet Bot). Thank you.
I think forcing so many admins and 'crats to stand down and relegate their duties to people selected through an anonymous voting process as unreliable as "kudos" isn't a good idea. Especially with the likes of Supermorff, who's been taking care of the wiki longer than 90% of us have even been on.
I think these admins and 'crats, who have earned their positions through months of effort and passionate work and went through the proper channels, should not lose their position because of a single thread such as this.
First off, the kudos system isn't anonymous. If you clicked on the "# Kudos" link, it shows who all voted. It is a legitimate way of voting and I gave a 24 hour time limit from our last vote. Seeing as it was just gonna stay like that for about a week unless someone actually did something, I closed it. If there is enough backlash, then fine, we will have a revote, but only if there is a backlash.
Second, just because a user worked for months and even years on their position doesn't mean they're entitled to keep their position forever. The four bureaucrats, sans Myself who's recently been more active than usual, are inactive. Grave, Genesjs, Morff, they're not active at all unless something comes up about their rights or a major site discussion. If you show up for something concerning your user rights after being gone for a lengthy period of time, then disappear right afterword, that's saying something.
Finally, Myself was the only one who opposed using the kudos system. Counting your vote, and even counting Morff's comment long before the voting began, it was only three users who were against the idea. Three out of ten users who thought the idea of a bureaucrat team was good. Community consensus decided our decisions for the longest time, why question it this time?
Morff, Myself, Gen, and Grave have all been given a week, and if circumstances are required, I will allow them to take on more time in case Wikia staff does not respond. I'm actually being helpful by allowing this: I could be a big jerk and contact Wikia staff and tell them directly to demote the four based on our thread consensus, but I'm being kind to the four.
I would have to say it is a bad idea as well. It is like cutting off valuable resources. We need to preserve any kind of experience we have. Because let me tell you one thing:
I CANNOT handle the pressure of having so many responsibilities to work with and making judgement calls on my own. I CAN'T! I JUST CAN'T!!! I need others to have a say in this too. I need others to be able to step in and make calls too! I am not a people person! I am not social! I dare not make decisions that require multiple facets!!! I CAN'T do that! I only accepted the position in this to help things along when they stagnated. That is what I understood about this new position. I did NOT want to take completely OVER!!!
Please. Let them stay. Let them hold their positions at least. I was already devastated over having to handle the void over Myself 123's departure. I cannot handle being the guy who make judgement calls on people!!! And I'll be honest; I doubt even you can handle that. I know you and I know how you can react (no offense). We may be good at handling edits and such, but when it comes to people, things can go terribly wrong when it is just us. We already lost Myself 123 because of all this, and he was one of the best at this - trust me when I say it can only go worse if we lose any more like that.
.....Not to be a complete and total @$$, buuut given what's happened and Ultra's own reaction?
Think you guys mighta jumped the gun, just a little bit.
Myself has been a consistent member of this wiki almost as long as Supermorff and Mystic, with about as much if not more experience than the three new 'crats combined. And he's left the wiki out of protest. After I believe just shy of ten years, he's dropped out.
I really think that should say something, at least in tandem with Ultra's own commentary.
I've got a question about the ranking in Sonic and the Black Knight: Instead of S to D ranking they use some kind of stars. Is there an article about them in this wiki? I have been looking for it because I wanted to know what the characters are saying when reaching a certain rank but I was unable to find one.
I don't believe there is an article for the star ranking system. I checked the rank article too and it wasn't there. I'll be sure to add or have someone add the rank quotes from Black Knight so we won't have this problem again. Thanks for the tip! :)
In some of the articles about those Broaches, you forgot to add the Sonic and the Black Knight items category. They're not just stubs. I'd add more info to the articles myself, if I played Sonic and the Black Knight.
