To me he ticks some habits I find common among those with aspergers.
For example his friendship with Blaze is a rather dependant one that when he is in doubt he turns to her for advice. When he ends up in the past and realise Blaze was not with him he is rather distressed about this.
Meeting new characters like Amy also come to an unprepared suprise to him. Most people with autism usually struggle with socialising and making friends, but Amy Rose is the sort of person who is capable of seeing good qualities in others and making unlikely friends that she was capable of striking a friendship with Silver up until he attacked Sonic. Will bring that up again.
While most heroes in Sonic's world tend to do what they need to do to save the world, Silver became fixed on his objective in order to save the future almost to a fault. Throughout his travels with Amy his only distractions were realising how beautiful the world was before Iblis ruined it, appreciating beauty in things often taken for granted by others, such as deserts or forests that are common to everyone else. Some with such autism are capable of seeing beauty and potential in things that others cannot. As one with aspergers myself I too found that over-thinking problems or trying too hard on assignments sometimes caused more problems than good. Silver was so fixated on saving the future that he resolved to murder to do so with little thought for anything else. He was driven to kill the Iblis Trigger because he was gullible to believe that will solve everything. When Amy realised he was going to kill Sonic she gave him a stern talking to and abandons him which left Silver to reconsider his actions more morally until Blaze found him and together returned to the task of saving the future but with more of a moral awareness.
When Blaze "had to go" he was extremely upset by this. When someone with aspergers make a good friend, they're friends for life and of course be very upset by the loss. I do ship Silver and Blaze together of course because I believe Silver does love Blaze and she hints she likes him for who he is before she departed, but it's understandable that SIlver just wholely likes Blaze to still react the same way for her departure.
And one last minor thing is believed that the mechanism of aspergers appears to result from developmental factors that affect many or all functional brain systems, as opposed to localized effects. That is to say those with aspergers have areas of the brain more developed than other parts. In science fiction that involve characters with psychokinesis or related powers are usually regarded as "mind powers" and result in their brains having more developed functions than others even if these developments don't make them super-intelligent of the like. Silvers abilities are no different as being recognised as "psychokinesis" means that his powers derive from his own brain. It could mean in Sonic's world that the autism spectrum could be regarded as a form of evolution where two-hundred years from now may grant X-men like powers to individuals. (And yes, that indicates that Blaze too can be on the spectrum however is less naïve and more reserved than Silver, but in Sonic Rush still indicate behavior similar to Silver.)
Socialising tend to be difficult but no impossible. And heck just because their are recognised symptoms doesn't mean someone with aspergers ticks all the symptoms. Some people with aspergers can be social butterflies while others prefer to remain shut in.
I remember when I moved to Gwynedd, I knew I'd be going to a brand new place where abolsutely no one knows me nor have any friends... GOOD! I've got one best friend who I still visit and in contact with and I got plenty of internet assosiates for company.
Socilising appears somewhat of a hassle to me. I'm alright for caring for other people and letting them care about me. But you have to invite them into your personal life, put some time for them, oblige them spending their time with you when you want to be alone or having to make your living space presentable because you don't want them to know how much of a slob you really are. Friendship is magic and all but like any spells theres rituals to follow.
If Silver feels anything of the same way, he probably feels the most comfortable around Blaze and values the one bond they have than having to make new friends and establish new bonds with them.
Okay, so I was on the Miraculous wiki recently and I found some discussion that had something to do with Unknown Follower getting banned or whatever. It had my name referring to me saying that I should show it to you, but whatever it is I thought you should check it out anyway.
Mystic, i was recently contacted by Shadow's Girl5 on the Miraculous Fandom. Appearntly, she had to get a new account after she moved, but was accused of sockpuppetry when coming here. I pointed her to Community Central, but i think it she waited long enough. Think you can help her? I'll message her if you will.
Here's her (old and new) profiles, i suggest you take a look at them:
Alright, i'll send him a link on his mesage wall. Also, while i was going through the Comminuty section, i noticed one of the Bureacrats, GraveEclipse567 has been inactive since November 2. You might want to deal with that. Anyway, i'm logging for now.
No one is asking you to do anything here, DeCool. It is up to you whether to unblock her or not, after all you have blocked her for a reason and as that was justified, we must all have the same decision on her staying as you have.
Hi Mystic. I would like to tell you that I have rewritten and moved all of the codes in MediaWiki:Monobook.css to MediaWiki:Custom-monobook.less, so that we can use the LESS stylesheet language to easily format our codes. The benefit of this change is that using this extended CSS syntax (LESS) allows us to shrink the snippets of code we need to make a CSS change a reality, and thus easy browser support and the ability to reuse already written settings from an already written class to our new class by just typing that class name under the new class.
And there is a lot more to do with this language, like using variables instead of classes to carry already defined settings into multiple classes.
So, I hope you read more about LESS and how to use it from that website I linked to, and to only use MediaWiki:Custom-monobook.less from now on to make changes to the Monobook skin. After each edit you make to that page, you must also press the "Update CSS" located on your Toolbox in order to carry the changes (automatically) to MediaWiki:Monobook.css and be executed. Again, no direct edit to "MediaWiki:Monobook.css" is needed.
Yeah, probably. I've also made a variable with the name 'link-color' which I think has that blue color that you always change during events. So, if you just change that color from that variable, all classes which use the variable will be updated accordingly.
All the text should be in comic sans. Logo can be in the style of the game's logo. The banner should probably have be of the school bus. The news section can show off that fake sequel shown off at SXSW.
Well pfffft I dunno what to do then. I hardly had any ideas from the begining (Other than that Omochao idea that wouldn't be acceptable or Easter Egg hunt) and with MArch coming to a close still no ideas.
Thank you. This weekend might be rather busy for me IRL, given I have a trip to London on Monday. I didn't know how soon it will be. Plus all this talk on "What to do for April Fools" and coming up with nothing makes me feel like the fool.
If you mean my Omochao idea, I think they would mind for two reasons:
I've been asking ShadowUnleashed13 to make it for years. I dunno how much he's done of it and haven't really brought it up to him this year.
Basically it's Omochao serving as a parody of Office Assistant. He follows the players mouse around and has a dialogue pop-up box for just about anything clickable on SNN. He advice the user in such things from how to click on links to how to use your keyboard. SNN announces him as "SNNs help program to stop users from asking questions they can find on the site." While his pop-up boxes could be regarded as spammish, they will dissapear after awhile and have their own x to click on.
My other more recent idea due to the uniqueness of this upcoming fools day is an easter egg hunt game where chao eggs will randomly appear on half of all articles on SNN. When a player clicks on an egg that article will no longer spawn an egg and the user will get a point. After 24 hours the user with the most points will get an SNN badge congratulating them.
This seems so performance-expensive. As the more you rely on moving objects, the more you draw from the computer's performance. That's why the Snowstorm script was altering the performance of scrolling sometimes.
Remember that you are using client-side js; it depends on the browser as far as I know.
Well I had this Omochao prank planned for a long while given I didn't want to repeat my Mario and Eggman pranks... though now that I think about it, an Eggman takeover would be VERY ideal given the theme.
Another Eggman takeover might be the thing!
The Easter one maybe a bit more easier, but may still require various databases to know which SNN articles have eggs and how many points each user has. It's more of an Easter mini-game than an April Fools prank though.
That's right, although you have to press the "UPDATE CSS" button after doing that for your changes to take action (as I said above).
And no, you cannot. The Less thing is not officially supported by Wikia; it is a user-made JS script that allows us to use the language. Therefore, we are bound to the script's scope which only allows site-wide Less pages.
Personally, I don't think it is really necessary to have a personal less page to check out the syntax and if it would work. As the ".less" pages support both LESS and CSS at the same time, and the output in MediaWiki:Monobook.css will always be in CSS. You will not have and you cannot write everything in Less, because that is not needed. Only syntaxes which are shorter made in LESS than in CSS are preferable to be used here.
So just experience with CSS at first when you are on a subject, and then see if there is an equivalent to that CSS solution you are picking in LESS. You can also check the validity of your LESS syntax here
Shadows personality is that of a stereotype emo hedgelord and throughout the games it doesn't change much. He starts off as a bad guy, does the whole "MARIA!" thing and goes back to brooding. If anything it was funnier in Sonic X because of Chris Thorndyke reminding him of Maria, I LMAO at that scene that was suppose to be sincere.
Characters like Shadow are often difficult to work with since they're so broody that they keep their personalities to themselves which makes them different to work with. What we know is Shadow is one of the good guys now but other than that don't show any familiarity towards him or else he will brood at you.
Yeah. It's like... people only know him for his edginess. You see, Sonic has personality. We know what he likes, what he dislikes, what upsets him, what triggers him etc. He's not a generic hero nor a generic teen sort of character but he has traits that are a bit of both.
Shadow on the other hand, he's always the brooding anti-hero. Whenever the story involves Shadow it's usually him being broody or trying to be bad@$$. He is capable of working with others but usually at arms length that we don't see much other sides of him.
Takes Sonic '06 for example.
Sonic rescues Princess Elise and the two form a friendship as Sonic helps her out. Sonic shows her theres more to life than being stuck in her gilded cage all the time and basically be a friend to her.
Silver is suppose to be the cold-hearted killer but it so overcome with the beauty of the past and with new friends made that this severely turns his moral compass around as he begins to questions more things. We see that for such a powerful individual he is sensetive, close to Blaze and a really nice guy once you get to know him.
Shadow's story is mostly him being told to get the thing, gets out-brooded by Mephiles, helps others outin a broody way and thats it. The only time we see him faced with a moral crisis and he still does the moody-broody thing.
We only get to see Shadow being annoyed, angered and whenever Maria is mentioned gets upset about it for the umpteenth time. The only time he has ever laughed was in the bad ending of Shadow's game when he became power-mad like any emo-villain would do. Classic Sonic has more dimension of character than Shadow and Classic Sonic is from 2D games.
