Metal Knuckles is the Badnik counterpart of Knuckles the Echidna, created by Dr. Eggman and a member of the doctor's Metal Series.
History
Construction
Constructed at some point around Snively's betrayal of his uncle, Dr. Eggman revealed Metal Knuckles, along with the rest of the Metal Series, to his Dark Egg Legion Grandmaster and his Sub-Bosses when Eggman called them to a meeting. Metal Knuckles' and the remainder of the Metal Series' purpose was to serve as Dr. Eggman's newest enforcers of his will and to provide assistance to the doctor's Grandmaster and Sub-Bosses when needed. Attack on Albion
Metal Knuckles and Lien-Da's Dark Legion forces attacked Albion and within no time, Team Fighters–Sonic, Amy, Tails, and T-Pup– showed up on the scene. Later on, Sonic came up to Lien-Da to attack her, but Metal Knuckles smacked Sonic. Sonic had knocked out because of this. (StH #243)
Days later, Knuckles came to Albion and found T-Pup. The two then found Team Fighters knocked out, as well as a shut-down- Metal Knuckles. With Knuckles wondering about all of the echidna's disappearing, he asked Team Fighters what happened. Sonic explains that he was smacked by Metal Knuckles; Tails says that he accidentally activated a switch which cause everyone on the island to get hit, thus resulting to Team Fighters and Metal Knuckles fainting. Later, Knuckles and Team Fighters went away and found the culprit behind the echidna-tribe's disappearance: Thrash the Tasmanian Devil. Team Fighters and Knuckles engaged to the Thrash, but meanwhile, the Krudzu came and merged with Metal Knuckles, thus the metal echidna is alive and ready for revenge. And so, after Thrash was defeated by Knuckles, Metal Knuckles attacked Team Fighters and Knuckles. Due to this, Thrash was able to escape, and Knuckles followed him. Seemingly unstoppable, Metal Knuckles merged with nearby machines until a Spin Dash went through the robot. This turned out to be Shard, and he quickly helped Team Fighters by taking Metal Knuckles out. With the help of the Devil Dogs, Metal Knuckles was torn apart, and eventually was destroyed. Powers and abilities
Metal Knuckles abilities and battle proveness remains so far unknown. However, considering it is a robot duplicate of Knuckles and the nature of the Metal Series, it can be theorized that it possesses many, if not all, of Knuckles' abilities and techniques.
