Metal Sonic 3.0 (メタルソニックver3.0) is Eggman Nega's copy of Metal Sonic that appeared in Sonic Rivals 2. The one difference between it and the original is that it's main colors are black and yellow, similar to Gemerl. It was made to awaken the Ifrit and raced Shadow, Metal Sonic, Silver or Espio (depending on the story mode). When Shadow, Metal, Silver or Espio reach the Ifrit, 3.0 tries to stop them from destroying the Ifrit and attacks them. Once the Ifrit is defeated 3.0 was either destroyed or trapped in the Ifrit's dimension.

- Despite being another inspiration from the image and DNA of the original Sonic, the two never actually fought or met.
- Metal Sonic 3.0's colour, black and yellow, is the same colour as Gemerl and Shadow Android, which are copies of robots as well.
- Despite being an upgraded version of Metal Sonic, he seems to be just as strong him.
- In Sonic Rivals 2 Metal Sonic 3.0's name and picture are diplayed the same as Metal Sonic since he is just Metal Sonic with a different colour.
- You can obtain a Mach 3.0 outfit for Metal Sonic in Sonic Rivals 2 to make him look like Metal Sonic 3.0 by sucsessfully copying every other rivals signature move.
