This vehicular extension for Metal Sonic uses a database containing racing algorithms from Sonic and his crew.

Description, Sonic Free Riders[1]

The Metal Star (メタルスター Metarusutā?) is a Board type Extreme Gear that appears in Sonic Free Riders. It is Metal Sonic's character-exclusive Extreme Gear, meaning only he can use it, and his default Extreme Gear.

Description

According to its profile, the Metal Star acts as an extension of Metal Sonic, making the Metal Star a part of Metal Sonic's own functions. It uses a database containing the racing algorithms from various Extreme Gear riders in the World Grand Prix presented Sonic Free Riders, such as Team Heroes, Team Rose, Team Dark and Team Babylon to name a few, allowing Metal Sonic to copy the racing skills of others and use them as his own. It is unlocked, alongside Metal Sonic, by completing the Final Race in the World Grand Prix campaign.

The Metal Star bears a strong resemblance to the Blue Star depicted in Sonic Free Riders, but with the white parts being replaced by a metallic color in reference to it's name. While having board-like dimensions, the Metal Star has a rather straight shape, with white accent sections along the edge, and yellow lights on the sides of the front. It also has two white circles on the top surface, with black stripes between them and a red stripe in the front of the circles' outward borders.

Abilities and traits

As a Board type Extreme Gear in Sonic Free Riders, the Metal Star is well-balanced in its attributes with average statistics, and is suited for general riding.

Like most other character exclusive Extreme Gear, the Metal Star possesses no unique abilities of its own, but it can be equipped with two Gear Parts.

Trivia

  • The Metal Star's name and color scheme is derived from Sonic's Blue Star, presumably as an allusion to Metal Sonic's status as a duplicate of Sonic.
