Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric[]

TEnerbeam

Tails working on the Enerbeam.

In Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric, Tails was out foiling Dr. Eggman's evil plans with Sonic, Knuckles and Amy as they pursued Eggman and Metal Sonic to an island. There, the group found an ominous ancient tomb after briefly splitting up, where they got cornered by Metal Sonic and Eggman's new Destruction Troops. While Tails thought they could handle them, Sonic still took them into the tomb for safety. Now trapped inside, Tails' team tried escaping the tomb while blaming Sonic for their predicament, but ended up awakening Lyric the Last Ancient, who somehow knew Sonic. The team was then tied up by Lyric with his shackles as he fled, but Tails was able to recalibrate the shackles into Enerbeams which they tried to pursue Lyric with, but without luck.

Seeking information on Lyric, Team Sonic tracked down Cliff. The archaeologist revealed that Lyric was an Ancient, who turned evil and planned to destroy all life in the world using his Sentinel army, powered by the Chaos Crystals, but was imprisoned by his own race when they discovered his plan, news which made Tails silently judge Sonic. Nevertheless, the team set out to get the Crystals before Lyric. When arriving in the Abandoned Research Facility to get the second Crystal, where the team got split up, Tails and Sonic met MAIA, a robot who rebelled against Lyric, who assisted the team by creating a time portal leading one thousand years back in time to retrieve a map for the Crystals. Before Tails and Sonic could use it though, they were attacked by Shadow the Hedgehog, who wanted to prove Sonic's weakness. Disposing Shadow into a time portal, Tails and Sonic traveled back in time to Lyric's Weapon Facility, where they helped a younger MAIA halt Lyric's operations. At the map room, Tails retrieved the map while Sonic trapped that time's Lyric for his future imprisonment by the Ancients.

Bros in lair

Tails and Sonic in Lyric's Lair.

Regrouping with Knuckles and Amy in the present, Tails continued the hunt with his friends. While collecting each Crystal, Team Sonic faced a brief alliance between Lyric and Eggman, fought Metal Sonic who had been programmed to serve Lyric, and got caught in the power struggle between Lyric and Eggman. Despite the dangers though, the team pulled it through each time. When getting the last Crystal though, Sonic was surrounded by Lyric's robots, and Lyric demanded that they handed over the Crystals if Sonic was to live. Tails and his team reluctantly complied, but Lyric's robots still shot Sonic down. Fortunately, they found Sonic alive, and Team Sonic followed Lyric to his lair, where they fought him. Near the end, Lyric used the team's Enerbeams to ensnare them, but before he could finish them, Eggman ambushed Lyric from behind, freeing the group. Tails then helped Sonic incapacitate Lyric for good, and, despite an untimely visit from Shadow, Team Sonic returned to the Village to celebrate their victory, where Tails set up the fireworks with Buddy Bot, after making Communicators for his team.

Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal[]

In Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal, when Sticks got caught in a rockslide, Tails and his friends rescued her, only for Sticks to warn them that an army was coming. Tails soon after found Sonic, who needed help saving Amy from an evil snake named Lyric who had kidnapped Amy for her knowledge on the Lost Crystal of Power. Tails thus downloaded Amy's damaged data logs from her AVA and designed a program for reading them so they could track her.

TailsMindControlDevice

Tails examining Shadow's Mind Control Device.

Elected involuntarily to tell Sticks about Amy, Tails informed Sticks of Amy's kidnapping with pleasant results. After getting Sticks to join them, Tails and co. followed Amy's clues, eventually finding Knuckles, who had been guarding Amy's path, and let him join their mission. Soon after, the team met a strange-acting Shadow the Hedgehog, who challenged Sonic to a fight. After Sonic beat Shadow, Tails deduced from his busted Mind Control Device that Shadow had been controlled by Lyric. Though a hologram from the device, the group was warned by Lyric that he would soon have the power of a god, once he was done with Amy.

While Shadow left on his own to find Lyric and get revenge, Tails lead his team to a robot factory with Amy's logs, where they encountered Metal Sonic. Sure Metal could take them to Lyric, they followed the robot to a volcano where Tails took his team to Lyric's sky base in an Ancient plane. After freeing Amy, Tails joined his team for a final showdown with Lyric, only for the snake to imprison them all, except Sonic. After Tails was freed by Sonic, Lyric tried destroying Team Sonic with a weapon, only for Shadow to arrive and stop the weapon, thus enabling Sonic to drop Lyric from his airship. Concluding their adventure with an unusual discussion about teamwork, Tails headed home with his friends.

Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice[]

SBFAI Tails 01

Tails contacting his friends.

In Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice, strange weather which could destroy the world attracted Team Sonic's attention. Tails thus sent out Sonic, Amy and Sticks to set up monitors. Amidst this, Sonic and Amy found a fissure and closed it with some newly-acquired fire and ice powers, stabilizing the weather. Noticing this, Tails had the pair meet up with up with him on Kodiak Frontier where he found a way to share Sonic and Amy's new powers with their teammates. No sooner though, Tails had the trio head home to seal new fissures with their new powers. On the way, they tried to catch D-Fekt, an Eggman robot with nearly limitless magnetic powers who tried to keep them from closing the fissures, until Eggman came and took Sonic to a race against his Ragnium-powered EggBot Racers. Fortunately, Eggman would return Sonic.

Back home, Tails and his team brought in Knuckles and Sticks as they began pursuing D-Fekt across the islands while also sealing fissures, suspecting the robot and the fissures were connected. At the same time, Tails had to deal with Sonic being taken away by Eggman repeatedly to face new EggBot Racers. In time, Tails' research revealed that the fissures held Ragnium minerals and that D-Fekt was covered in it. Devising a plan, Tails had his team put a tracker on D-Fekt which lead them to Ragna Rock where Eggman was mining for Ragnium and piping the mining by-products off to adjacent islands, thereby creating the fissures which were destroying the environment. Confronting Eggman in his mines,Tails waited while Sonic and Sticks fought D-Fekt to save Eggman when the robot went overboard trying to destroy Team Sonic to please his creator.

In the aftermath of the fight, Eggman's Ragnium mine was permanently destroyed. Feeling obligated to show gratitude for saving him though, Eggman gave D-Fekt to Team Sonic as thanks. Tails then reprogramed D-Fekt to be harmless and went home with his friends.

TV series[]

Past[]

Tails was the first of his friends that Sonic the Hedgehog met.[12] Eventually, Tails would go on to form Team Sonic with his friends and help save the local village from hundred of thousands of Eggman attacks.[13] Over time, Tails would gain many fond memories of his time with Sonic.[5] On one of their adventures in particular, Tails and his team got involved in a time-traveling escapade with Eggman.[11]

Years ago, Tails would play Tomatopotamus 2 with his friends all the time until the game got recalled.[14]

Season one[]

SB S1E01 Sonic convince Tails

Tails is fired as Sonic's sidekick.

While battling Dr. Eggman, Tails came to Sonic's aid in the Tornado when he faced Burnbot. During the battle, Tails crashed when Burnbot clipped the Tornado. Recovering back home thanks to Sonic, Tails was fired by Sonic as his sidekick to protect him from harm. Regardless, Tails still applied for Sonic's sidekick try-outs (where all candidates could come). Making the cut, Tails faced fellow candidates Fastidious Beaver and Eggman in a ground-and-air race where the latter made Tails and the Tornado crash into a frozen lake with Burnbot. While Sonic saved Tails, Tails returned the favor when Burnbot nearly drowned the hedgehog. Beating Burnbot together, Tails and Sonic reconciled in the aftermath, and Tails was rehired.[5]

When Eggman, Orbot and Cubot needed a place to stay while their lair underwent repairs, Tails let them stay in his house. However, Tails and Sonic were annoyed by Eggman's obnoxious behavior and almost kicked him out until Amy made them give him another chance, which Eggman used to keep them awake all night. The next morning, Eggman revealed that he lied about his lair so he could exhaust the duo, and summoned Obliterator Bot to destroy them. However, Obliterator Bot misheard Eggman and attacked his lair instead. Answering Eggman's plea for help, Tails, Sonic and Eggman reached Obliterator Bot's kill switches in the lair despite their downiness while the rest distracted it, though they were too late to save the lair.[15]

SB S1E03 Tails Behold, U

Tails presenting UT.

Finishing UT, a universal translator robot, Tails demonstrated it to his team, who took a disliking to UT when it translated their private thoughts from the subtext of their speech. The next day, Tails tried showing UT to his team again when it "translated" their speech into insults. Upon examination, Tails discovered this UT was a fake, planted by Eggman to tear the team apart. With his team unwilling to rescue UT, Tails went to Eggman's lair alone and made a deal: in exchange for letting UT go, he would become Eggman's assistant. Eggman accepted, so Tails sent UT off with a farewell message to his friends, planning for UT to translate it into a distress call. The remainder of Team Sonic came soon after and freed Tails while destroying Eggman's Mega. Thanking his team, Tails predicted good times with UT until Sticks threw it into the sea.[16]

When Team Sonic saved the Village from Fire Bot, Tails and his team noticed Sticks' bad treatment of animals and convinced her to get a pet to learn about compassion. However, Sticks chose a disgusting robo-dog named Buster. Over the next week, Buster was an annoyance to Tails and the rest, which culminated in Buster keeping them from stopping a robbery made by Orbot and Cubot. As Tails and the team tried making Sticks give up Buster, Eggman came with a gift for Buster and revealed he made him. The gift turned Buster into a larger robot who caught Tails and the team. They were freed through when Sticks assumed control over Buster, who got rid of Eggman. As Sticks released Buster for being too dangerous, Tails found an octopus he wanted as a pet until it swallowed him.[17]

SB S1E05 Tails Amy drums

Tails helping Sticks with her training.

While Tails and his team were in the Village as it was hit by meteors, Sticks saved them with her defense system. Soon after, Tails and the others heard from Sticks that she had been nominated for an Awardy Award, but refused to go to the Awardy Awards out of fear of embarrassing herself. As such, Tails helped Sticks train to be a proper lady. At the gala, Tails learned that Eggman had been nominated as well (by cheating). However, when Eggman did not get the award and attacked with his robots, Tails and his team got trapped when trying to fight. Fortunately, Sticks saved Tails, and his team drove Eggman away, saving the gala.[18]

When preparing Amy's decorative lunch, Tails made Amy feel unappreciated by tinkering with her music. As Eggman came to hire Amy for a redecoration of his lair for Modern Lair Magazine, Tails was shocked when Amy accepted it. Eventually, Team Sonic began to miss Amy and went to Eggman's lair to check on her, but Eggman claimed Amy had chosen to stay. Not buying it, the team broke into the lair where Tails freed Amy from a cage and the group made peace with her. Team Sonic then trashed Eggman's lair and his Badniks on their way out, costing Eggman his spot in Modern Lair Magazine.[19]

SB S1E05 Sonic and Tails communicate

Tails and Sonic on a mission to save the world.

When Tails and Sonic tested the fomer's Reverse Polarizer, Orbot came to have Tails repair Cubot. Soon after, Tails and Sonic went to Eggman's lair after detecting two Doomsday Devices, and discovered Eggman and his intern, Dave, were competing to see who could destroy the world best with their Doomsday Devices. Tails and Sonic therefore tried tricking them into calibrating their devices so they would cancel each other out. When the devices created a black hole instead, Tails gave Sonic his Reverse Polarizer which he used to destroy the black hole.[20]

Having created a rampant vacuum claner, Tails called Sonic in to help stop it. Coming with Sonic to his shack later, Tails made Sonic give him his last cookie from an unknown sender. In truth, it was an Evil Cookie made by Eggman which turned Tails into Eggman's clone. Now evil, Tails joined Amy, Knuckles and Sticks (who had also eaten the Evil Cookies) under Eggman's tutelage to plot Sonic's demise. When Sonic came to save them, Tails and the others cornered him, but then began fighting over who deserved the honor for capturing Sonic. During the fight, Tails and the rest were restored to normal by Sonic and Eggman (who Sonic turned good with an Evil Cookie with his DNA). The good Eggman thought they would work together now, but Team Sonic did not like the idea and restored the doctor to normal.[21]

SB S1E09 Laser tripwire

Tails makes a security system for the Gogobas.

During a Hoverboard race, Tails and Sonic saved Gogoba Village from the Weasel Bandits when they plundered it. As the Gogobas made them stay for a victory feast at their own expense, Tails and Sonic felt terrible and tried to leave several times, but the Gogobas kept guilt-tripping them to stay until they had them remain as their protectors. When they failed to get away by giving the Gogobas a security system, Tails and Sonic escaped by guilt-tripping the Gogoba Chief. Back home though, they found the Gogobas had moved into Sonic's Shack so Sonic could protect them. No sooner, the duo was attacked by Eggman and his Badniks. After winning the fight, Tails and Sonic convinced Eggman that the Gogobas would be a great asset to him. Guilt-tripping the Chief into the idea, the Gogobas finally left the duo with Eggman.[21] On a trip to the Village Center, Tails found Orbot and Cubot performing a horrible street act. Out of pity, Tails gave them some money.[22]

As Tails and his team saw Sonic and Knuckles play coconut hurl, Eggman came by to attack them with Cowbot, a robot which would create a large explosion when destroyed. As such, Tails reprogrammed Cowbot instead, but accidentally made it go after Eggman to kill him. Tails came with Sonic to warn Eggman, but the doctor convinced them to help prepared for Cowbot by upgrading his lair's defenses. While waiting for Cowbot, Tails, Sonic and Eggman bonded over roasted marshmallows. When Cowbot finally arrived, their weapons got gunked up with marshmallows, though it gave Tails the idea of gunking up Cowbot too. When Tails' plan worked, Eggman revealed his secret plan was to make them upgrade his systems for his own usage. However, Sonic foiled his plan and left with Tails.[23]

SB S1E12 Tails Sonic Sticks

Tails getting scolded for endangering the team.

While his team fought Eggman's Octopus Bot, Tails tried using his new Unbolterizer on Eggman, but it malfunctioned and caused a rockslide that nearly crushed his team. After beating Eggman, Tails got scolded by most of his team. Guilt-ridden, he left the team until he could fix his invention. When he did and had run some tests however, Tails was contacted by Sonic who revealed the team had been captured by T.W. Barker. Coming to their rescue, Tails freed his team and helped stop Barker before making amends with his friends.[24] Tails later served as judge for Sonic and Knuckles' Gopher Ball game which Sonic won. As Knuckles tried using up his bad luck by inflicting brutal misfortunes on himself, Tails and Amy got Sonic to stop him while they sought Sticks' aid. No sooner though, Eggman invaded the island. Team Sonic tried stopping him, but Knuckles' bad luck and Eggman's currently good luck ruined their chances. To beat Eggman, they let Knuckles temporarily join the doctor and had his bad luck cancel out Eggman's good luck, neutralizing them both. Tails soon saw though that Knuckles' bad luck had passed onto him.[25]

While stargazing, Team Sonic saw a meteor landing nearby, which Eggman arrived to steal. After Sonic and Eggman tried to take the meteor, only for it to knock them out, Tails analyzed it and discovered its ability to switch minds. Realizing this had happened to Sonic and Eggman, Tails brought the meteor to his team just as Sonic and Eggman (each in the other's body) were fighting. As Tails verified Sonic's identity to his team, they used the meteor to switch back Sonic and Eggman.[26] Following a battle with Scorpion Bot, Team Sonic noticed Eggman was sinking into a slump. With Eggman later loosing his drive, Tails was driven nuts by Sonic who became restless from the peace. As such, Tails and his friends tried to re-motivate Eggman by tricking Sonic to fight him. Though they could not trick Sonic as intended, it still lead to Sonic and Eggman resuming their battles.[27]

SB S1E16 Tails flustered

Tails is instated in the Lightning Bolt Society.

Trying to help Sticks pick berries, Tails built a berry picking machine, which ended up demolishing the orchard. Tails was thus forced by Sticks to replant the orchard, making him miss the pie festival. There, he met the Lightning Bolt Society who invited him to join them. Tails accepted after Dave reseeded the orchard with his Mutant Seed Gun, but discovered they thought he was evil and wanted his leadership to commit crimes. Fortunately, Sonic and Amy came and got him back despite interference from Eggman. Tails then helped destroy some mutant plants with his berry picking machine and made up with Sticks, though she still had him replant the orchard.[28]

When Tails helped beat Eggman in his Moth Bot, Sonic got sued by Eggman for breaking his neck unprovoked. At the trial, Tails tried to defend Sonic, but Eggman's lawyer, T.W. Barker, turned Tails' statements around and Sonic stood to lose. Thanks to Amy though, Eggman was revealed to be fine, and Tails could fight Eggman's invading forces once more.[29] As his team got him away from working on his plane, Tails found Eggman selling tomato sauce. The team suspected the sauce was poisoned, but Tails' analysis told otherwise, so they let Eggman keep selling it. A few weeks later, after Tails had to repair several electronics, Team Sonic saw Eggman reveal on TV that his sauce cans had turned their electronics into robots to conquer the island. Soon, Team Sonic came under attack by a small army which included Tails' Plane. For this reason, Tails remained to regain control of his plane back while his team confronted Eggman. Once he succeeded, Tails dropped by and stole Eggman's controller which he shut the robots down with, while Eggman accidentally ruined his plan by revealing it on TV.[30]

SB S1E19 Tails Don't craaaaash

Tails on a crashing course with a volcano.

When Tails showed his voice-controlled Tailsmobile to Sonic, a deafening tone created when Sonic ran nearly made Tails' vehicle drive him into a volcano until Sonic saved him. When Tails could not figure out Sonic's problem, he advised him not to run. During a later Crab Bot attack, Tails and his team had Sonic stay put, only for Eggman (who claimed the attack was a mistake) to show up and offer Sonic help. Despite Tails' warnings, Sonic took Eggman's offer and soon returned with special shoes that seemingly muted the sound. However, Eggman then attacked them with Giant Robot which Tails figured out got stronger the more Sonic ran with his new shoes. Thankfully, Tails and the team were saved when Sonic overloaded the robot by running excessively.[31]

When Tails then had a movie night with his team, Eggman attack in his Egg Tank. During the fight, Tails saved Amy, who then saved Sonic by deflecting the Egg Tank's weapon. As Eggman countered it however, an accident occurred, creating a time loop that made the day keep repeating itself, with Tails unaware of it. In this period, Eggman, who retained awareness, kept Tails from saving Amy so he could capture Sonic, only for the loop to reset it. Desperate, Eggman turned to Tails and Sonic for help to stop the loop, where Tails (after several loops) came up with the solution to contain the loop's reaction, leading to time's restoration.[32] While flying in his plane, Tails saw Sonic and Knuckles awaken a Granifer Giganticus, who made Tails crash. Joining his team in the Village, Tails noticed from experience that the rock monster was just trying to fall asleep. Seeing Sticks could lull it to sleep with her singing, Team Sonic relocated the rock monster when he blocked a road, only for Eggman to try and capture him. After beating Eggman, Team Sonic saw the rock monster had escaped with Sticks. Unable to find Sticks, Tails located her with his Disasterometer and helped rescue her. Luring the rock monster to Eggman's lair, Tails made the rock monster fall asleep to a recording of Sticks' singing.[33]

SB S1E22 Team Sonic who's in charge

Tails trying to settle his team's leadership dispute.

As Tails helped his team battle Eggman, Sonic and Eggman got trapped in Buddy Buddy Temple. Tails then found himself caught between Knuckles and Amy who argued over who should lead their rescue of Sonic. Joined by Orbot and Cubot, the group fell into the temple as it caved in, where they found Sonic and Eggman, who got them out just in time through an escape route. Tails then left with his team.[34] When at Meh Burger, Team Sonic met Orbot and Cubot, who had left Eggman to be their friends. Despite his aversion to it, Tails was left to take in Orbot and Cubot, whom he gave his laptop to play on. Later, the robot duo and Eggman came for Team Sonic's help when a computer virus named Nominatus took over Eggman's tech to destroy all life forms. Collaborating with Eggman while the rest kept the robots away, Tails sent Orbot and Cubot into cyberspace where they stopped Nominatus. Team Sonic then ended their truce with Eggman.[35]

As Tails saw Sonic and Knuckles playing with his Tailsmobile, he helped Sonic find a library book that he had to return for Amy. Soon after, Tails ´saved Sonic in his Tailsmobile when he was attacked by Eggman's robots. With his team's aid, Tails got rid of the robots and helped Sonic return his book.[36] Tails later met Amy in the Village and heard she was heading to Hidden Meadows, leading Sonic to bet with Sticks that he could teach Knuckles better survival skills than she could teach Amy. The parties agreeing to a race to Hidden Meadows, Tails worrisomely watched Sonic and Knuckles forego their training. At the race, Tails served as the referee, but was unable to see it unfold.[37]

SB S1E26 Tails jump kick

Tails fighting Eggman's robots.

While pranking Knuckles, Tails and his team saw Eggman's Fly Bot spy on them. Misinforming Fly Bot, Team Sonic lured Eggman into a prank which made him desert technology and his lair. Tails and his team soon after went into action when the island was randomly attacked by Eggman's robots and missiles, which were deployed by the Lightning Bolt Society, who had taken over Eggman's lair. After trying to fight the robots, Team Sonic stormed Eggman's lair, where Eggman helped drive the Lightning Bolts away while Eggman re-embraced tech.[8]

While Tails played with his friends, Amy revealed she was starting a new restaurant after having enough of Meh Burgers. Tails' team joined Chez Amy's staff, but later left Amy when she got caught up in her rivalry with Dave at Meh Burger. Regardless, Tails and his friends later came to help Amy defend Chez Amy from Badniks. Despite Tails providing coverage in his plane, Chez Amy got destroyed, and the team returned to being customers at Meh Burger after helping rebuild it from an Eggman attack.[38] Another time, Tails met Swifty the Shrew while out with his team and was impressed by the shrew's coolness. Tails later had Swifty over until Sonic, who found Swifty annoying, found them, where Swifty challenged Sonic to a race where the loser would be banished from the Village. Disgusted by Swifty's arrogance, Tails rooted for Sonic at the race, which sadly ended in Swifty's victory. However, Eggman then arrived and unveiled it was all a plot staged by him and his Swifty robots to leave the Village defenseless, so Team Sonic got Mayor Fink to bring Sonic back, who in turn beat Eggman.[39]

SB S1E29 Tails am I pure now

Tails clearing laundry for the mystical marmoset.

Tails' routines later got messed up by traps from Sticks, who tried protecting the team from the "Curse of the Cross Eyed Moose". Seeking to end this, Team Sonic followed Sticks to a marmoset named Monkey-Boy to remove the curse, who had the team prove their worthiness by doing his chores, much to Tails' dismay. Amids this, they found Eggman attacking Monkey-Boy. Making a deal, Tails and his team got rid of Eggman, and in return, the marmoset broke their curse, allowing them to go home.[40] Later helping his team set up the Chili Dog Cook-Off, Tails prepared to enter using a special pepper he had bought from Mrs. Vandersnout, only to realize from Knuckles that it was a phony. At the cook-off, Tails and his team noticed Knuckles had disappeared after he left to find a new pepper. They found him a day later, having fainted from eating a pepper that gave him strange dreams.[41]

After Tails helped foil Eggman's Explode-o-nut plot, he assisting with Sticks' forced yard sale. While trying to have techno-talk with Knuckles, Tails found Sticks' Burrow overrun by evil Froglodytes which Amy had set free by removing the blockade of their caves in the burrow. As the frogs took Sticks into their caves, Team Sonic went in and rescued her, with Tails using his Hyper Exo Manifier made from Sticks' junk on the trip. Back outside, the team sealed the Froglodytes' caves again.[42] As Sticks later tried rallying Team Sonic against Knuckles while he served as deputy mayor, Tails was not worried. When the Village fell into chaos from Knuckles approving random bills though, Tails and his team joined the fellow-minded Eggman to stop Knuckles. As Knuckles' approval stamp ran out of ink, Eggman betrayed the heroes by taking the stamp to control the Village (though Tails wondered why they fought Eggman as he only wanted his trash removed). In the end, the stamp was destroyed and Mayor Fink resumed his position.[43]

UbF2V37

Tails editing Eggman's script for Sonic.

Finding Obliterator Bot on a rampage, Tails and Sonic stopped it, only for Eggman to reveal he was shooting a movie. Tails suspected it was an evil plot though, and the duo walked out on Eggman's offer to have Sonic play in his movie. When Sonic did accept, Tails helped him rewrite the script when he came to his workshop. Coming to the movie premiere, Tails learned the movie was an attempt to enslave the audience with hypnotism. Since it failed due to an error on Eggman's part though, everyone could leave.[44]

Detecting an Eggman attack, Tails gathered his team, but when Sonic and Knuckles arrived, he heard Sonic had called Mike the Ox "just a guy" which upset the whole Village. Much to Tails' dismay, he and his team were then dragged into Amy's sensitivity seminar with Sonic when the hedgehog tried to restore his image. Rejoining the seminar with Sonic after he got Mike injured by letting him join Team Sonic's fights, Tails came along on a camping trip while Sonic decided to retire. When Tails returned, he found Sonic back in action and beloved by the villagers again, though Tails would still attend Amy's seminar.[45] One day, Tails met another Knuckles at the team barbeque, whom Tails soon deduced was another version from a Mirror Dimension. As Tails tried to get him back home, the alternate Knuckles sought a solution at Eggman's instead. However, when the native Knuckles began to fade, Tails concluded that with two Knuckles in the same dimension, both dimensions would implode. Fortunately, Tails was able to send the alternate Knuckles home when Sonic and the girls returned with him and the needed equipment.[46]

SB S1E36 Tails finds tools

Tails gets his tools back.

While making a device, Tails noticed his tools were gone. Calling in Sonic, they accused Eggman of the theft, but found him innocent. As they tried catching the thieves with a trap, Tails and Sonic were taken to them by Orbot and Cubot, who turned out to be the Cubot prototypes, who just needed repairs. After Tails helped them, his tools were returned. Soon after, the duo protected the prototypes when Eggman attacked them. Succeeding with some luck, Tails and Sonic took the prototypes to a safer place.[47] Another time, when Tails enjoyed some unintentional commodities provided by Dave the Intern, he and his team had to step in when Dave imprisoned Eggman, seized Eggman's forces, and clumsily used Octopus Bot to attack them. Tails thus kept Dave from hurting himself and others until Sonic returned with Eggman and stopped Octopus Bot. Afterwards, Tails fell for a prank set by the Lightning Bolt Society.[48] On the day of New Year's Eve, Team Sonic set up the Village party, with Tails using a new gadget to decorate while they warded off Eggman and his Ball Bots. When Tails later celebrated New Year in the Village, Eggman came and used his Slow Motion Machine to slow down time long enough for him to beat Sonic in something before New Year. However, Tails did not believe Eggman's claims of victory, as it happened too fast for him to see.[49]

When the Justin Beaver fever hit the Village and turned all the females into crazy Justin fan girls, Tails and Knuckles joined Sonic's boy band, Dreamboat Express, so they could pass off as Justin's opening act to the bouncer Salty at Justin's set and investigate Justin's producer, Dixon. There, they heard Dixon was using music-based mind control to sell merchandise and planned to expand it at Justin's next concert. When they could not convince Amy and Sticks, Tails made a Measure-o-meter which he used during a sing-off between Justin and their band at the concert to find the frequency to break the mind control. The heroes then formed Dude-itude and freed everyone's will with their power rock ballet.[50]

SB S1E40 Tails and Zooey

Tails holding hands with Zooey.

Developing a crush on Zooey, Tails would zone out about her while helping Sonic and Knuckles, and stopping Eggman's Decimator Bot. When his team noticed this, Tails admitted he was too shy to talk to Zooey and tried following his team's ideas on how to approach her, but all failed. Meeting Eggman, the doctor advised Tails to be himself before attacking the Village. Taking Eggman's advice, Tails had his team stand back and stopped the robot invasion in his own way while saving Zooey from Giant Robot, finally making Zooey reciprocate his feelings.[51]

Later, as Knuckles rose to fame by starting a trash can trend at a photoshoot Team Sonic watched, Tails enjoyed the benefits of being a celebrity's friend. However, after Knuckles became the host for the Comedy Chimp Show, Tails was railed to save him from an Eggman attack on the studio, orchestrated by an envious Comedy Chimp. During the battle, Knuckles renounced his fame to rejoin Tails and the team, and helped finish the fight.[52] When finding his workshop on fire, Tails found Sonic, Knuckles, Amy and Perci inside and heard his friends' exaggerated recollections of the fire's cause. After hearing the truth from Perci though, Tails realized his workshop's security system caused the fire. With his team free to leave, Tails fixed Perci's broken bike.[53]

SB S1E45 Tails vs Eggman

Tails vs. Eggman.

When Tails demonstrated his Super Antenna to his team, Knuckles began pursuing inventing, annoying Tails with his ideas. Soon after, Tails was goaded by Knuckles into competing with him in the Robot Battle Royale. Using his robot-controlling Hypnobot, Tails got to the finals where he lost to Eggman when the doctor took control of Hypnobot. Eggman then used Hypnobot to take over Tails' other inventions. While his team fought, Tails was inspired by Knuckles to use the echidna's Vacuu-Fan 2000 to sneak up to and retake Hypnobot as Vacuu-Fan 2000 was too base to be affected by Hypnobot. After Tails got rid of Eggman with Hypnobot however, it was destroyed before Tails could use it as a defense against Eggman.[54] Later, Team Sonic tried to stay cool during a heatwave while fighting Badniks which Tails noticed were super-charged. When the Badniks went crazy though, Team Sonic checked on Eggman and saw he had captured the Archipelago Homeowners Association to avoid eviction. After freeing the prisoners, whom Eggman came to an agreement with, Team Sonic left.[55]

Learning Amy was into Fuzzy Puppies, Tails and his team ridiculed her before resuming their routines and Eggman fights. However, Amy's recent absence made Tails and his team check on her, and they learned that Amy and Eggman were "Fuzzy Puppy buddies." Keeping an eye on the pair at Puppy Con, Team Sonic prevented a rockslide seemingly caused by the Lightning Bolts, but then learned it was a distraction Eggman set up so he could steal a rare game piece. However, Amy resolved the situation while Tails stood back.[56] After beating Eggman again, Team Sonic agreed to Eggman's wish for a fair fight by facing him one-on-one. On his turn though, Tails got tricked by Eggman who took his MX-4180 Electroplasmatic Capsulator, making Sonic mock him and the others who got fooled. Still, Tails and co. helped Sonic when Eggman caught him with their own gear, and worked together by switching out when needed to beat Eggman, keeping their promise. However, the team still encaged Sonic with Eggman to teach him a lesson.[57]

SB S1E49 D.B

Tails and crew being observed by D.B. Platypus.

After beating Eggman for the millionth time, Team Sonic got the Greatest Role Model of All Time Award. However, the crew's antics made the mayor hire D.B. Platypus to make them better role models, who got Tails and his team to follow strict rules that made Sticks leave. The team later tried to stop Eggman's theft of a trophy, but Platypus made them not use violence, leaving the team with no options to fight until Sticks came back and got rid of Platypus and the audience. Team Sonic thus went back to handling Eggman in their own way.[13] While stuck in Amy's House during a storm, Tails, Sonic, Knuckles and Sticks horsed around, driving Amy nuts. Finding the A Rose Without Thorns, a play written by Amy, they got upset at Amy for her portrayals of them in it. With Amy also mad at them for reading her stuff, the team fell apart as they all argued. Though Tails, Sonic, Knuckles and Sticks reconciled after a fight, Amy stayed mad since they had trashed her house, so the group put up Amy's play for her as an apology. While it worked, they and the audience still went to Amy's House as a storm began.[58]

As Tails hosted and commentated a dare between Sonic and Knuckles, the latter was inspired to make amends with Charlie. However, Knuckles ended up making Charlie a villain who kept bullying Knuckles with an Ancient weapon that Tails admired. Since Knuckles refused to do Charlie more harm, Tails and his team convinced him to defeat him; afterwards, the team joined Knuckles for a snack.[59] Team Sonic later helped Amy built a bookcase when they were attacked by Team Eggman, Eggman's league of villains. As Tails tried to survey the situation in his plane, he was attacked by Willy Walrus in Moth Bot. Getting rid of Willy, Tails reunited with his team as Team Eggman was defeated to play ball with Eggman as payback.[60]

Season two[]

S2E01 Big fans

Tails meeting Tommy Thunder.

When Tails and his team came to movie star Tommy Thunder's new movie promotion, they stopped Eggman's attack on a baker, inspiring Tommy to observe Sonic's heroics for his upcoming role. While Tails was charmed by Tommy and his benefits, Tommy got Sonic to let him hang around. However, Tails had to deal with Sonic's frustrations over Tommy, who also took credit for their team's next victory over the Weasel Bandits. Still, Tails was proud of Sonic when he finally let Tommy share the credit.[61] Hearing later from Eggman that an asteroid would hit the earth and destroy civilization, Tails and Sonic's suggestion to stop the asteroid when they had it confirmed were ignored by the officials who wanted to buy spots in a bunker that Eggman was selling. After intense thinking, Tails had his team build his Solar Convergence Device and steal the Egg Rocket (since Eggman wanted the asteroid to hit). The team then sent Knuckles into space alone to bump the asteroid off-course with the SCD using instructions from Tails. Because Tails mixed up the instructions though, Knuckles shattered the asteroid instead, leaving its pieces to rain down on the island. Sonic, however, used his speed and Amy's Hammer to deflect them.[62]

While with his team, Tails dealt with Sticks' frustration over fluff news. He later helped her create a radio station for a podcast to speak truth to power, acting as its technician. As the podcast got popular by revealing Eggman's theft of their water, Tails became Sticks' camera man when she got her own TV news gig. As Tails let their show get sold out, he would record Sticks as she had enough and began a brief village revolt, before interviewing Sticks on her resignation after directing the villagers into smashing Eggman's latest device when he showed it.[63] Tails later conducted experiments on how to boost Sonic's speed with his team when Sonic vanished while trying his Ultrasonic Speed Amplifier. Although accused of disintegrating Sonic, Tails figured out he was only stuck on another plane of existence. As Team Sonic tried saving Sonic, Eggman used Sonic's absence to attack the Village. With his team covering him, Tails entered Sonic's plane to rescue him, and, with Sonic's aid, the two got home together and stopped Eggman's attack (although the trips left Tails nauseous).[64]

You're going down Mark

Tails and his constricted team facing Mark.

When Sonic introduced Mark the Tapir, his biggest fan, to the Sonic, Tails was unnerved by Mark's obsessive behavior, though it did not stop Sonic from making Mark his assistant. When Sonic did not come to a movie with them however, Tails and co. went looking for him and discovered that Mark held him captive. Tails was subsequently caught by Mark too, along with his team, but they all soon broke free and beat him.[65] After beating Vacuum Bot, Tails was inspired by Eggman to bet with Sonic that he could catch him, and the loser had to perform at Meh Burger Karaoke Night. Growing angrier with each failed trap, many of which caught his friends instead (whom Tails left behind in his zeal), Tails caught Sonic with an all-out trap, only for Eggman to attack the helpless Sonic. Realizing his mistake, Tails railed his team, and together they saved Sonic and beat Eggman. Apologizing to his angry teammates afterwards, Tails accepted his bet's punishment (despite technically winning it).[66]

Having beaten Eggman again, Tails took his team out to sea when they noticed seismic activity there. There, they found Eggman generating a tidal wave underwater to destroy the Village. Although Tails had wetsuits ready for this, Tails and co. were stalled by the aquaphobic Sonic until they got Sonic into the sea with the aid of Soar the Eagle's life-coaching. Tails himself remained above sea to guide his team and even donated his plane's hose to save Sonic. After redirecting the Wave Machine, Tails took his team home.[67] When Dreamcaster subtly hypnotized him through TV, Tails was influenced to not believe Sticks' story about seeing Dreamcaster. As Sticks then disturbed the Village with her story on TV, Dreamcaster made Tails and co. arrest her for breaking into the studio. Tails soon after became Eggman's zombie slave, who had him and the hypnotized villagers build a world-controlling satellite. He would later attack Sticks when she came to the rescue, but was freed by her with tin foil hats. With the team restored, Tails and co. freed the villagers and stopped Eggman's plan.[68]

Tails tries to form a "brain trust" with his look-alikes.

Tails later got a trophy from the mayor after demonstrating a new Village defense to his team which repelled Eggman. However, when Eggman got through a hole in the defense with his Egg Tank and Scorpion Bots, and then used it to attack the Village, the crowd would scorn Tails despite his team beating Eggman. Doubting himself, Tails split himself with a machine to form a "brain trust", but got five dimwitted copies instead. Discovering this as they met the copies, Team Sonic made more copies when trying to remerge them. Fleeting to the Village and Eggman's lair, the Tails copies were rounded up and remerged by Eggman and Team Sonic, making Tails realized he should not have doubted himself.[9] While Sonic and Amy were fighting the Egg Tank again, Tails scouted from above in his plane; however, he and his plane kept getting hit by grenades and tank fragments during the fight.[69]

After Tails and co. stopped Eggman's attack on the Fuzzy Puppy Warehouse, Tails' new weather-controlling device got stolen by Orbot when the robot distracted the fox. Tails later united with his team to protect City Hall from Orbot (now an independent villain) and his forces. This battle ended when Orbot destroyed the new villain permit's records and Orbot was restored as Eggman's lackey. Tails' team then cleared things up with Eggman, who gave Tails' device back to him.[70] After stopping one of Eggman's attacks, Tails and co. helped Knuckles recover from the amnesia he got in the fight. As Knuckles recalled that he was the last of kind, Tails would watch him try to find a foster family. Tails and his team later had to fight both Knuckles and Charlie after Knuckles joined Charlie and Belinda's family and became a villain. Thankfully, Knuckles would rejoin his team and help beat Charlie, and Tails assured him afterwards that Team Sonic was his family.[71]

While playing Jungle Predator, Tails and his crew found a mech suit in an airtight Ancient ruin. Against Tails' wishes, Sonic put the mech suit on, though he would use it break the team out the ruin when Eggman trapped them there. Noticing Sonic's growing malice while wearing the mech suit though, Tails and co. found the mech suit's blueprints and learned it was taking over Sonic. When Sonic would not listen though, Tails and co. fought him when he threatened the Village. With some aid, Tails got into the mech suit and made it benign, thus freeing Sonic, who chose to keep his mech suit.[72] When Sonic got a copy of Tomatopotamus 2, Tails played on it with his team for hours. After Sonic went for chili dogs though, Tails saw an Eggman robot named FiendBot had followed him. Although Sonic said FiendBot was nice, Tails did not trust the robot and would dislike how he messed up their days. When Tails and co. had to fight Eggman though, FiendBot helped them beat Eggman's forces and even took a laser blast for Sonic. Using the Sparcium in his team's video game, Tails repaired him. Making FiendBot a part of the team, Team Sonic gave him a home with the Cubot prototypes, whom he could protect.[14]

Having stopped Eggman's search for Ancient tech, Tails and his team would investigate some robberies, eventually discovering the thief was Og, a friendly Froglodyte just seeking a new life on the surface. With Sonic thinking Og was a spy, Tails was soon tasked with watching Og, only for Tails to pass Og onto Knuckles when Og annoyed him. When other Froglodytes later invaded the Village, the horde would swarm Tails and co. when they faced them. However, Og would help the team reseal the evil frogs underground. Tails then made up with Og, who would leave to get his own pad.[73] Tails and co. later came to an edition of the Comedy Chimp Show, where Knuckles won a lamp. The next day, Tails saw Knuckles had gotten a house for his lamp. Tails spent the next days battling Eggman with his team while Knuckles worked two full-time jobs to pay his house fees. Tails was thus happy when he wanted to quit one of them. When Knuckles kept his jobs though, only to lose them when trying to see to them and the team, Tails and co. learned his landlord T.W. Barker was strong-arming him. After they got Knuckles' contract and house revoked, Tails would keep Knuckles' lamp for him.[74]

Tails writing a note to Zooey

Tails writing to Zooey while on his mission.

When the Village had a power outage, Tails and his team investigated its cause. Finding Eggman innocent, they interrogated Mayor Fink and learned the town's power source (the Meroke Crystal) had died out. As such, Tails and his team followed Fink's directions into the mountains (during which Tails wrote to Zooey) to get a new crystal from a deadly temple built by the Ancients, where they solved the riddles of the place and its guardians thanks to Knuckles' simple thinking. Claiming the crystal, the team got it to the Village in time to restore order.[75] At a town meeting, Tails found out for the attendants that their village was named after Sticks' evil ancestor, Jebediah Badger. As the villagers sought to rename the town, Tails accepted a referendum between Amy and Eggman's name propositions at a new meeting. After voting at the referendum however, which Eggman used to get elected as Village leader, Tails found himself and his team legally unable to stop Eggman's plan to destroy the Village. Thanks to Amy and Sticks though, who found a way to remove Eggman from power, Tails could help defeat Eggman, after which Sticks renamed the Village.[76]

After coming to Meh Burger, which had gotten new robot employees (courtesy of Eggman), Tails saw Dave the Intern lose his job to one of the robot employees in a contest. Upon attenting the reopening of the improved Meh Burger with his team (minus Sticks) however, Tails and the villagers got trapped in a force-field and sent towards space in Meh Burger by Eggman. Contacting and guiding Sticks, Tails, with the aid of his trapped crew, Sticks and Dave (whom Sticks recruited), conducted a mid-air rescue of himself, his crew and the villagers while returning Meh Burger to the surface. Tails subsequently gave Dave an adjusted robot employee for his new job at Meh Burger.[77] After Team Sonic stopped Eggman and his robots' theft of the Fregosi Sapphire at its unveiling, Tails fixed and reformed a Bee Bot for Amy (whom she named Bea), but was alarmed when Amy adopted her. As Tails and co. tried to comfort Amy after Eggman took Bea, Eggman came and used Bea alongside Bee Bot look-alikes (which kept Team Sonic from hurting them) to take the Fregosi Sapphire from Knuckles. Facing Eggman and his Bee Bots without Amy, Tails and co. fought a Fregosi Sapphire-powered Mega Bot until Amy came and helped spot Bea and beat Mega Bot when it shot Bea. With their gem secured, Tails fixed Bea using a Fregosi Sapphire shard.[78]

TailsAndBeth

Tails educating Beth.

Becoming a science judge at the Science Fair Awards, Tails let Beth the Shrew observe him and his work as a part of her prize after she won the awards. Eventually, Tails had Beth come along while he and his team stopped an Eggman attack, during which Beth took an interest in Knuckles instead, making Tails jealous. After hearing of Sonic's playdate with Eggman, Tails worked with Knuckles in an experiment that would make Beth notice them both, but they got so caught up in their demonstration that Beth left them in favor of Sticks.[79] While stargazing after seeing Knuckles' new hangout, Tails saw what he thought was Muckfoot and got a photo of him (after a weird meeting with Eggman). With it, Tails proved Muckfoot's existence, making the Village hail him as a hero and starting Muckfoot Mania. After starring on Muckfoot Hunters however, Tails was pushed by Sticks to discover that Muckfoot was just a muddy Knuckles on berry-induced sleepwalks. When Tails would not tell this to the adoring villagers though, Knuckles got caught by Barker, who wanted Muckfoot as his attraction. With Tails telling his team the truth, the group faced Barker on his Muckfoot world tour, where they beat Barker and his allies (Eggman and his lackeys included) by feeding them the sleepwalker berries Tails had, and saved Knuckles. Afterward, Tails told the public the truth about Muckfoot.[4]

Updating his Build-it Box, Tails had his team over to see him manifest a small Ms. Tomatopotamus. Taming Ms. Tomatopotamus, Tails and co. would stop an Eggman attack before focusing on their hippo. After she suddenly grew however, the gang discovered that Nominatus, Beta and Retro had hijacked the Build-it Box. Tails and Knuckles thus went to ask their suspect Eggman about the theft while the others faced the thieves. Hating Nominatus himself, Eggman helped Team Sonic stop Nominatus and his gang as they used the Build-it Box to materialize an army to conquer the planet with. Tails then used his Build-it Box to de-materialize the army and shrink the evil trio for Eggman to capture.[3] Coming to the beach, Tails and his team eventually got attacked by Eggman. While they won, Tails disapproved of Sonic's lack of teamwork when he hogged the fight for himself. Later at lunch, Tails and co. were told by Sonic that he had Steve Eggman join the team after Steve saved him. Besides Sonic making a team decision alone, Tails also had issues trusting Steve, even after he helped them save some Gogobas on a mission. Soon after, "Sonic" told Tails that the team should disband. Not buying this, Tails pretended to accept it before locating Amy, who revealed the team's disbandment was the work of Steve, who was a shapeshifting robot out to break Team Sonic apart. The two thus reformed Team Sonic and helped rescue Sonic when Eggman and Steve attacked him.[80]

Sonic and Tails argue

Tails and Sonic arguing.

Tails would host Sonic while a widabit used his shack for its courting ritual, but they soon got tired of each other. Telling his team this, Tails tried advancing the widabit's ritual with Sonic and Amy's aid after he found it a mate using a fake mating call, but the beasts kept refusing each other. Tails later joined his team when Eggman attacked, but ESC's Fastidious Beaver halted their fight when a widabit arrived, just as more widabits, attracted by Tails' fake call, ran through the Village to the shack. After Tails saved a bystander from the stampede, he and his team located a fiftieth widabit to join those at the shack, which would let Sonic relocate them. Making up, Tails and Sonic got the widabit to the shack. However, Tails had to host Sonic (and Knuckles) for a week when two widabits' courting ritual delayed the relocation.[81]

When Tails and co. held a charity car wash, Eggman attacked them with his Badniks when he complained about their service. Team Sonic easily beat the Badniks, but lost when Mighton and Bolts appeared and beat the team for Eggman. After Eggman left with his new allies, Tails investigated these robots' origins with his team. Finding a spaceship, they discovered the robots were not of this world. Orbot and Cubot later came and told Tails and co. that Eggman held Mighton and Bolts captive in his lair. Saving Mighton and Bolts after a battle in the lair, Tails and co. made peace with them. Tails then helped fix their ship, and Team Sonic saw the duo off, just as the Cubot prototypes attacked the team and shot Tails.[82] Tails survived though, and Team Sonic subdued the prototypes. While fixing the prototypes, Tails learned that a malware signal from Morristown was controlling them, just as Amy called for help to save the Village, which was under attack from every robot around. Tails and Sonic thus left the infected Cubot prototypes under Leroy's watch when they awoke, and joined the fight in the Village. Seeing that the same signal was controlling the robots, Tails and Sonic left to stop it while their team kept the robots at bay. Heading to Morristown in Tails' Plane, Tails and Sonic met some of its sentries and used one of their ships to sneak into the ruined Morristown after a victorious dogfight.[83]

SonicVsHypnoBot

Tails being saved from Hypnobot by Sonic.

Within Morristown, Tails and Sonic got attacked by infected robot locals until Bolts took them to the Robot Resistance's HQ, who revealed that a robot in the city was making the malware signal and had taken over the city. Since the resistance was vulnerable to this robot's signal, Tails and Sonic faced him for them, only to discover it was Hypnobot, now sentient and seeking to conquer the world as revenge for Tails' abandonment of him. His apology scoffed, Tails hunted Hypnobot with Sonic while robot slaves swarmed them, only to end up at Hypnobot's mercy when he hesitated to destroy his own robot. Thankfully, Tails was saved when Sonic kicked Hypnobot off of Morristown and ended his signal. While Mighton and Bolts picked the duo up from their fight though, Tails blamed himself for this whole mess.[84] Deciding to check out Morristown, Tails and Sonic were given a tour by Mighton and Bolts until Hypnobot returned with Eggman and his army to conquer the city. With the rest of Team Sonic coming to their aid, Tails helped his allies fight the invaders until Hypnobot began turning Morristown's robots against them. Overwhelmed, the group retreated to a bunker where Tails helped Bolts make malware-proof cyborg clones of Tails and his team, who helped them overpower Eggman's army when they resumed the fight. At the end, Tails overcame his hesitation and destroyed Hypnobot when he tried to kill Sonic. With Eggman retreating afterward, Tails bid farewell to a liberated Morristown (now renamed "Roboken") with the knowledge that his team's cyborg clones had the city covered.[85]

Eventually catching fleas after he and his team stopped Eggman's newest theft by beating his HugeBot, an itchy Tails soon saw at Meh Burger that his team had fleas too. This led to Tails and his crew getting quarantined by the authorities when they tried to enter the Male Fennec's shop, although the mayor soon freed them so they could stop Eggman's latest attack. Inspired by the mayor, Tails discovered that their fleas were remote-controlled Eggman robots. Unable to remove these FleaBots, Tails and co. faced Eggman to make him stop them. As Eggman struck back using his FleaBots and Badniks, Tails made the former attack Eggman after getting his FleaBot remote, which Amy then broke to make them stick.[86] Foiling later the Lightning Bolt Society's newest scheme, Tails and his Pin Dashers faced the Lightning Bowler Society in bowling after the latter became bowlers, and lost. Pressed by Sonic, Tails trained with his team for their arranged rematch, but on the day of the match they heard that the Lightning Bowlers broke up. Following Sonic's plan to reunite them for the rematch, Tails and co. gathered the group, but then had to stop Eggman when he came with his Mega. While Tails and co. beat the Mega with the unintended help from the Lightning Bowlers when they tried to fight Team Sonic, the rematch got canceled when the Lightning Bowlers decided to become Lightning Bolts again.[87]

Green, It Looks Like Wasabi - Fine Brothers Entertainment Vines

Tails dragging the crew's road trip out.

When asked if Dude-itude could perform a concert on the other side of the island, Tails accepted the request. Gathering his band, Tails headed for the concert with the crew and their gear in his Dude-Mobile. However, the crew's trip got sidetracked by tourist traps, stops, the police, and the Bike Chain Bandit. Eventually, they got jailed when they were mistaken for the Bike Chain Bandit's associates. With Salty's aid though, who had been jailed for the same reason as them, Tails and co. broke out and cleared their names by catching the bandit after a wild chase and handing him over to the officer pursuing them. At the concert site however, Tails learned he had missed the concert's date, which was first in a month.[88][89] When Team Sonic later got lured into a trap by Eggman, Tails used his plane and Unbolterizer to help his team beat Eggman's robots and get home. Hearing afterward that Eggman had turned his lair into a hotel to pay a fee, Tails checked in there with his team to keep an eye on Eggman's plans. Eventually, Team Sonic and the guests got trapped when Eggman took them hostage for a scheme, but Sticks, who was not among them, freed them. Tails and his team then fought Eggman's robots, which led to the guests' liberation and the destruction of Eggman's lair.[90]

When local gossip revealed that Dr. Eggman was no doctor, Tails would see him as an even greater joke. He thus joined the villagers in mocking Eggman during the scientist's next trip to the Village. For the next boring weeks where Eggman focused on getting a Ph.D., Tails spent his free time goofing off with his friends. Though Tails and co. stopped Eggman when he tried to rob a store, their fight lacked the usual spark. When Eggman did earn his doctorate, Tails watched his graduation ceremony.[91] Visiting later Barker's Haunted Forest with his team alongside Eggman, Tails had a laugh seeing Eggman get traumatized by the props. He and Sonic used this to mess with a fragile Eggman, but they soon took pity on him and had Barker show him that he had nothing to fear. Tails and co. soon after got attacked by Barker after he seized Eggman's properties. Thanks to Barker's strategies, Tails had a hard time against the Badniks Barker used. However, he and his team were saved when Eggman reclaimed his Badniks and properties from Barker. Tails then proceeded to fight Eggman and his robots like always.[92]

Amy Tails Sonic spying

Tails and co. working to save the Gogobas.

Back at Meh Burger with his team, Tails saw Amy advise a despondent Eggman. Tails and his team later found Gogoba Village when they got lost. There, the Gogoba Chief revealed that the Froglodytes had taken his people away to work in the mines. Guilt-tripped into saving the Gogobas, Tails and co. entered the Froglodytes' caves and saw that the frogs were helping Eggman (whom they thought was a kingly figure) mine for the Tummel Crystal. Although the team got caught and put into labor, they escaped when Eggman found the crystal. Then, after Sonic exposed Eggman as a fake to the Froglodytes and stopped him when he tried using his crystal-powered MeBot, Tails helped get the Gogobas home.[2] Tails later had a game with his team when he saw Cubot, who had gone nuts and was flying around with a rampant Anti Gravity Ray, and Eggman arrive. With Cubot's gravity field picking up innocent villagers, Tails and co. tried to rescue the villagers, only for Cubot to gain control of the Anti Gravity Ray. Cubot then began taking the villagers, Amy, Knuckles and Sticks into space to enlighten them. Using his plane, Tails helped Sonic intercept Cubot in the sky. Sonic then brought everyone down by reversing the Anti Gravity Ray with a knob provided by Orbot, who was among Cubot's victims. After removing the Anti Gravity Ray from Cubot though, Tails and co. almost got crushed by the gravity it began to emit. Knuckles however, saved them by destroyed the device.[93]

When their beloved rec center got closed, Tails and co. tried saving it by filling out a petition, which the mayor dismissed. Concurrently, Eggman tried to get the rec center so he could trash it. Since only the winner of a sports game could get it, Tails' team and Eggman arranged a soccer match. When Tails later saw that they would face Team Cybonic, whom Eggman had recruited with mind-control, he accepted this once Eggman promised his team's freedom after the match. Tails' team stood to lose however when Eggman made his team meaner (but dumber) while the teams practiced. At the match though, Tails noticed Team Cybonic's weakness, which let his team win and ensure the rec center's reopening. Tails then helped freed Team Cybonic from the mind-control when the cyborgs attacked them, and together they got payback at Eggman.[94] When Tails later goofed off with Knuckles and Sonic, they accidentally caused a tree to fall on Lady Walrus. With Lady Walrus too injured to watch her baby Chumley, Tails and co. agreed to babysit Chumley while she recovered. However, this was no easy task for them, and Amy refused to help. When Eggman attacked the trio though, Chumley ended up helping them defeat him. Having seen what Chumley liked, Tails and co. got the hang on babysitting him and had a good time. When Chumley vanished after they went to sleep though, Tails and co. looked for him in vain before confronting Lady Walrus. Fortunately, Chumley appeared in time for them to return him to his mother, and Tails resumed his earlier escapade with his friends, albeit with a small responsibility lesson in mind.[95] Tails soon after helped Sonic beat up Eggman and Morpho after they sent Sonic on a trip to another dimension.[96]

TailsVehicleProfile

Tails in his customized vehicle.

When Tails' team waited for him to finish work, they got him to make a Build-it Box they could make large and fun stuff with after seeing his measly usage of a small one. With it, the crew made themselves cars. Getting over-competitive, Tails and co. prepped their own car race, only to be forced to make it an official event by racing laws presented by the mayor. After eight months of permits, Tails had his race against his team in his vehicle, with locals like Eggman joining them, but crashed on the track. With the rest of Team Sonic crashing too and Eggman poised to win, Tails, like his team, realized their erroneous ways and helped make a car from their own that Sonic won the race with. Afterward, Tails received a participation trophy.[97] Tails later played with his team when Eggman came and told Sonic to add him on FriendSpace, which Sonic refused. As Eggman left, Tails convinced Sonic to add Eggman anyway to spy on him. Tails soon learned though that Eggman was bombarding Sonic with notifications. Tails subsequently got into Scrambler until it got deleted.[98]

Eventually, Tails reunited with his team when Amy's Hammer vanished. Along the way, they fought off Eggman when he got mad at them for accusing him of taking the hammer (which he did not). Tails tried afterward to comfort a dismayed Amy, who hired Vector the Crocodile to find her hammer. While Vector and Sonic conducted the investigation, Tails stood on the sidelines, watching the case unfold and looking after Amy, until Vector found the hammer and returned it to Amy.[99] When Tails and his friends later tried using Meh Burger's new delivery service to order take-out that would be free if not delivered within a certain time limit, their meal arrived many hours too later. As such, Tails joined a focus group to review Meh Burger's service. At the end, Sonic became Meh Burger's new delivery boy. When Eggman later tried to keep Sonic from delivering an order on time, Tails and co. helped Sonic by holding off Eggman's Badniks.[100]

SB LOLD Promo

Tails and his team confronting Eggman.

After getting scammed by Eggman's online business, Tails and co. faced Eggman in his lair. During the subsequent fight, a malfunction in the HQ room made the lair's sorting system send Tails and Amy to the basement where Mootonium was stored, with the lair's lockdown protocol trapping them there soon after. Much to Tails and Amy's displeasure, the Mootonium later stood to explode when the AC broke. Joined soon after by Sticks and Orbot, the group heard Eggman talk to them through the pipes in morse code. With this way of messaging the different rooms, Tails helped relay Eggman's info on how to undo the lockdown to Sonic in the HQ room, thus allowing Tails and co. to escape the lair before it blew up.[11] Coming under attack by Bee Bots later on, Tails and co. trapped them in a cave when Orbot and Cubot proved unable to call off the Bee Bots without Eggman (who was on vacation). Tails later tested his Matter Transporter using himself, only for the device to make him a cyborg when a Bee Bot entered it. When his team saw this, they tried to help him, but had to postpone it to handle a rescue mission. After the mission, Tails began to like his new body and chose to keep it. However, Tails soon got corrupted by his robot half, which prompted him to use the imprisoned Bee Bots to attack Team Sonic, who fell back after seeing Tails get hurt for every Bee Bot they beat. Tails was soon lured out by Sonic though, and Team Sonic took out enough Bee Bots to subdue him. Tails was then returned to normal with his Matter Transporter, which had been reconfigured by Eggman.[101]

After seeing Eggman's bots chase a cuddly creature around, Tails and co. would ask Eggman about the creature. They soon saw though that Eggman was the creature, and that he turned into it whenever he got angry. As Sonic proceeded to tease Eggman into morphing, Tails enjoyed this new opportunity to annoy Eggman. After Eggman took anger management class however, Tails could not get to him.[102] When Eggman later went on vacation with his robot family, Tails and co. tried taking some time off, only to have several misadventures. Eventually, they found Eggman and co. returning, with Mighton and Cyborg Sonic hot on their trail. Learning that Eggman had stolen Bolts' intelligence chip, Tails and his team helped Mighton and Cyborg Sonic battle Eggman's robots, whom Eggman upgraded with the chip. When the chip ended up in Mombot though, the Eggman family kept Team Sonic and co. from attacking Mombot. Eggman then surrendered the chip to the heroes to keep Mombot safe.[103]

Cruisin' 1968 Track 10 - I Heard It Through the Grapevine

Tails and co. giving D-Fekt a new purpose.

While Tails had D-Fekt help him out, the fox noticed the downside to D-Fekt's muteness when the robot could not buy spare parts for him, and gave him a voice. This let D-Fekt express a desire for purpose. Eventually, Tails and his team showed D-Fekt the Cubot prototypes, whom he became the new guardian of (since FriendBot had moved to Roboken). Although the team soon learned that D-Fekt had helped the prototypes overthrow Eggman, they let it slide. However, Tails and his team ended up fighting D-Fekt when they objected to his recent revenge rampage. While they fought, Eggman arrived in a suped-up MeBot and fought D-Fekt. Amidst this, Sonic saved D-Fekt's girlfriend when Eggman took her hostage. After defeating Eggman, D-Fekt deemed him and Team Sonic even, and left.[104]

While dragging Knuckles around om his Hoverboard using his car, Tails would have a brief race with Sonic when he showed up, oblivious to Knuckles getting hurt as a result of his driving. After that, Tails went to buy the new Tommy Thunder video game and other gear while chiding Eggman's 'Stache Smash. He would later head for Meh Burger with his team, only for Eggman to attack them with Badniks. Although the team beat the Badniks, Tails noticed that Eggman was up to something strange. Tails and Knuckles would afterward hang out, only for Shadow to come and beat them up.[105] Once Shadow realized he had been tricked by Eggman into fighting Team Sonic however, he left. All beaten up, Tails regrouped with his team, only for Lord Eggman (Eggman's counterpart from another dimension) to appear and attack Sonic. However, when Shadow arrived and attacked Lord Eggman, thinking that he was Dr. Eggman, Lord Eggman revealed that Dr. Eggman was hiding in his dimension, and provided Shadow with a portal to him. With Sonic joining Shadow on his trip, Tails was left to watch Lord Eggman. Sonic and Shadow soon after returned with Eggman and Metal Sonic in tow. While these four individuals fought, Tails and co. would help Sonic defeat Metal. The team's victory was short-lived however, as Shadow then revealed to the team that he, in a desire for universal revenge, had trapped Eggman and Lord Eggman in a secret place while they fought Metal; since their dimension cannot host two Eggmans, this would cause an abnormality that would destroy the universe. Wasting no time, Tails rebuilt Metal so the team could use his Eggman-homing beacon to find Eggman. This allowed Sonic to locate the Eggmans and save the universe, which Tails celebrated with his team in the aftermath.[106]

Archie Comics[]

The Big Boom[]

Miles Tails Prower (Sonic Boom) Archie Comics

Tails, from Sonic Boom #1.

On the beach, Tails, Knuckles and Amy came to Sonic's aid and helped him defeat Dr. Eggman and his Big Boy. Shortly after, Sticks came and told them that Tails' House had been robbed. What Tails' discovered though, was that his whole house had been stolen by what Sticks described as a "cyborg rock golem" seemingly made by Eggman, that rose from underground. As Tails complained, Sticks seemingly caught the scent of the robot. Though it turned out Sticks was only smelling the grass, the team still found the Rock-cyborg by following its footprints and Tails helped set an ambush for the robot after checking on his house. With Sticks, Knuckles and Amy's aid, Tails made the robot fall over and allowing Sonic to destroy it, making his house fall back on its foundation.[107]

Not long after, Tails, Sonic, Amy and Sticks would fight Eggman when he returned in his Big Boy, only to face Knuckles who had teamed up with Eggman because he had had enough of Amy's criticism. In his carelessness, Tails got himself captured along with his team and put into the Big Boy's cargo hold. Knuckles revealed he pretended to work for Eggman to fool him, but when Amy depressed him over his plan's flaws, Tails figured out how to restore the echidna's confidence and had him attack Eggman. Tails and the others were then freed by Sonic while Knuckles drove Eggman away. After getting rid of Orbot and Cubot however, Tails found Amy panicking over her hammer being gone.[108] Back at Amy's House, Tails, Sonic and Knuckles only made Amy freak more out, so Sticks sent them out to find Amy's Hammer. Despite combing the island, Tails found nothing, but as he and Sonic returned, the hammer suddenly fell into Sonic's hand. After Amy got her hammer back, Tails went home for the night.[109]

Sonic without his bandana

Tails paying respects to the Rock of Justice, from Sonic Boom #4.

Agreeing to a climatic battle with the Big Boy, Team Sonic promised Eggman a battle, but Tails, Sonic, Knuckles and Amy later forgot about it. Eventually, Eggman, Orbot and Cubt tracked them down in the Big Boy, and Team Sonic began fighting him, but soon saw they were at a disadvantage against the upgraded Big Boy. Coming to their aid was Sticks, who claimed she had found an all-powerful weapon: the Rock of Justice. Exasperated, Tails and the rest refused to believe a rock could aid them and continued the fight. However, Sticks saved them with the Rock of Justice by throwing it at the Big Boy, causing it to ricochet into the mech and destroy it. After scaring Eggman and his lackeys scared off, Tails was in awe of the Rock of Justice, only to hear that its power had been used up. Tails paid his respect to the weapon and helped Sticks back home with Amy.[110]

Boom Shaka-laka and Worlds Unite[]

Tails and his team would come to help Sonic when Eggman attacked with his minions, though Eggman slipped away. As the team went to Meh Burger, Eggman came to ask for help to operate his rides at the Eggtoberfest, which Eggman hoped to gain the villagers' trust with. Though complying, Tails and his friends' intended to keep an eye on things. Sure enough, Eggman's army attacked the villagers not long after, which Tails and the team stopped and were hailed for by the villagers.[111]

Tails and Team Sonic soon saved Sonic again when he was attacked by Eggman's Courier Robot. The robot then became a video phone with Eggman on it, who challenged Team Sonic to a fair race in his Go-kart Pan-island Grand Prix. Sonic accepted the challenge on the team's behalf, but Sticks refused to join Tails and the rest since she suspected it was a trap. At the event, in go-karts donated by Eggman, Tails and his team took the lead as the race began. Tails was nearly pushed off-road by Orbot and Cubot, but when the robots crashed, Tails got suspicious and stopped to examine his kart while secretly being scanned. While his search was inconclusive, he carelessly let him and his kart roll off a cliff.[112] However, Tails survived and came to Sonic's rescue with Knuckles and Amy just as he fell into a ravine due to Eggman. Instead of going after Eggman however, Tails and the others were convinced by Sonic to first let him beat Eggman in the race to prove he could win fairly. After getting Sonic back on course, Tails and the others arrived in Tails' Plane when Sonic was attacked by Eggman in his Spider-Kart, where they distracted Eggman long enough for Sonic to win the race. Tails then joined his team in destroying the Spider-Kart and making Eggman depart, and Tails received Sonic's heartfelt gratitude, unaware of where Sticks had gone to.[113] When Sticks reappeared, Tails joined her at a campfire with his team to hear her story about fighting an evil robot alongside an interdimensional army. Like his team though, Tails did not believe this absurd story.[114]

While Tails worked on his Dance Instructor Bot, Sonic sought his aid on what to do with Kyle the Gorilla who was mooching off of him. Ever sensible, Tails told Sonic to get Kyle a job.[115] Tails soon finished his robot and practiced dancing with it, unaware that Eggman spied on him.[116]
