Milky Way is a course that appears in Sonic Drift 2. It is a racing track located in outer space that leads straight to the Death Egg. It is the fifth course in the Blue Chaos GP.

Overview

The main setting for Milky Way is simply put outer space. The entire region of Milky Way takes place in the void of outer space, though it is unknown how close proximity it is to Earth, with the Death Egg located in the center of it. Everything in sight features nothing but a black background with countless stars in a multitude of colors and as well several colorful planets (some of which have planetary rings) dotting it. After racing a little down this course, the Death Egg will come into sight and will get bigger as the player approaches it.

The racing track through Milky Way is a translucent road that leads through the void of space. It is mainly colored in alternating blue and white horizontal stripes with similarly colored yellow edges. On the sides of the tracks there are also occasionally blue satellite-like objects.

Gameplay

In Milky Way, the player's objective is to get the top position in the race. Moving outside the racetrack will cause the player to fall into the ever-present pit surrounding it. If the player falls, he/she is forced to wait for a giant metal crane to drop him/her back onto the racetrack, which can cost the player precious time. Also, if the player collides with one of the blue satellites on the edge of the road, it will cause the player to come to an immediately stop, spin out of control and lose a Ring.

While moving down the racing track, there will occasionally be incoming green Meteorites that bombard the track, which can be dodged by moving to the sides. Getting hit by one of these Meteorites will cause the player to spin out of control and lose ground.

Description

In Milky Way, the player races on a linear racing track encompassing the entire map. Additionally, the racing track is littered with different power-ups and objects that the player can utilize (the Monitors takes on the appearance of fragmented boxes with an colored orb on them). Here, the player's objective is to reach the end of the racetrack. The fastest racer to complete this race is rewarded with a Chaos Emerald.
