Sonic Rush Adventure Mission List

The Mission List in Sonic Rush Adventure.

Missions[1] are a gameplay feature in Sonic Rush Adventure. It is a set of Act and Boss stages mostly requested by the non-playable characters in the game, usually under special circumstances. Most of these missions are entirely optional.

Overview

The Missions in Sonic Rush Adventure can include the player having to reach the Goal of a particular Act, defeat a boss, complete an Act within a time limit, perform a fixed number of tricks or locate a particular object in an Act. These missions can be completed in any order.

After progressing to a certain point in the game, the player can interact with the Coconut Crew and visitors around Southern Island. These character will then converse with the player about a particular reward they will receive by completing their Mission. Once received, the player needs talk to Marine the Raccoon in her house and select "Play a Mission" to access the list of Missions given. New Missions are highlighted with the word "NEW" while completed Missions are highlighted with golden description texts. Upon selecting a Mission, the player can then play as either Sonic the Hedgehog or Blaze the Cat (after the latter is unlocked), and are given one try to compete the Mission. Should the player lose that try, they can either restart the Mission or quit.

After the "Cruel to be Kind" event, Marine will not be at her house, so the player will not be able to access the Mission List (nor complete any Missions) until they defeat the Ghost Titan. The player can still receive Mission requests though.

The player must play a few Missions to obtain the Sol Emeralds which are necessary to unlock the true ending of the game and fight the true final boss, but the remaining missions are optional. The rewards for completing these missions include visual aesthetic changes to Southern Island, more of the game's soundtrack to listen to in Sound Test, unique Medals, or more cutscenes from the game's storyline.

There are a total of 100 Missions the player can be given in the game and are listed as follows:

4 Get all Sol Emeralds. The Ghost Pendulum has powered up and is out of control. Defeat it again! Gardon Player receives a Sol Emerald.
  • Only playable as Blaze.
  • Ghost Pendulum will be battled under Normal difficulty conditions regardless of the boss difficulty settings.
5 Reach the Goal. Reach the Goal of Hidden Island 7. Setter A coconut tree is planted north of the Ocean Tornado dock.
6 Collect the Rings. Collect 100 Rings on Plant Kingdom Act 2 within 1'30"00. Kylok Cutscenes "Marine Appears" to "Found Green Material!" are added to the Movie Theater.
  • All Ring Bonus Item Boxes have been removed from the Act.
  • The Mission is failed if the timer expires.
7 Get all Sol Emeralds. Reach the Goal of Hidden Island 6. Gardon Player receives a Sol Emerald.
  • Only playable as Blaze.
8 Reach the Goal. Reach the Goal of Hidden Island 14. Setter A coconut tree is planted between the Aqua Blast dock and Marine's house.
9 Collect the Rings. Collect 100 Rings on Machine Labyrinth, Act 2 within 2'00"00. Kylok Cutscenes "Arrival at Machine Labyrinth" to "Kylok Found" are added to the Movie Theater.
  • All Ring Bonus Item Boxes have been removed from the Act.
  • The Mission is failed if the timer expires.
10 Get all Sol Emeralds. The Ghost Kraken has powered up and is out of control. Defeat it again! Gardon Player receives a Sol Emerald.
  • Only playable as Blaze.
11 Defeat the boss again. The Ghost Pirate has powered up and is out of control. Defeat it again! Daikun A lighthouse is built on a cliff near the Ocean Torando dock.
12 Collect the Rings. Collect 100 Rings on Coral Cave, Act 2 within 2'00"00. Kylok Cutscenes "Arrival at Haunted Ship" to "Legendary Ancient Ruins" are added to the Movie Theater.
  • All Ring Bonus Item Boxes have been removed from the Act.
  • The Mission is failed if the timer expires.
13 Get all Sol Emeralds. Reach the Goal of Hidden Island 12. Gardon Player receives a Sol Emerald.
  • Only playable as Blaze.
14 Reach the Goal. Reach the Goal of Hidden Island 13. Daikun The windmill behind Marine's house has been rebuilt.
15 Reach the Goal. Reach the Goal of Hidden Island 16. Setter A coconut tree is planted near Whale Point.
16 Defeat the boss again. The Ghost Condor has powered up and is out of control. Defeat it again! Tabby A seagull will fly around on the north-western area of Southern Island above the Deep Typhoon dock.
  • Ghost Condor will be battled under Normal difficulty conditions regardless of the boss difficulty settings.
  • The corridor will scroll at its fastest speed right from the beginning of the battle.
17 Get all Sol Emeralds. Reach the Goal of Hidden Island 8. Gardon Player receives a Sol Emerald.
  • Only playable as Blaze.
18 Reach the Goal. Reach the Goal of Hidden Island 11. Setter The rose garden patch outside of Marine's house (from completing Mission 3 earlier) is upgraded to a luscious rose bush.
19 Collect the Rings. Collect 50 Rings on Haunted Ship, Act 2 within 2'00"00. Kylok Cutscenes "Earthquake!" to "Clash with Whisker and Johnny" are added to the Movie Theater.
  • All Ring Bonus Item Boxes have been removed from the Act.
  • The Mission is failed if the timer expires.
20 Defeat the boss again. The Ghost Whale has powered up and is out of control. Defeat it again! Tabby A whale will appear and swim along the northern end of Southern Island.
21 Reach the Goal. Reach the Goal of Hidden Island 15. Daikun A watchtower is built to the right of Deep Core.
22 Reach the Goal within the time limit. Reach the Goal of Plant Kingdom, Act 1 within 1'20"00. Muzy "Plant Kingdom Act 1" (#003) is added to Sound Test.
  • The Mission is failed if the timer expires.
23 Collect the Rings. Collect 100 Rings on Plant Kingdom, Act 1 within 1'30"00. Muzy "Training" (#024) is added to Sound Test.
  • All Ring Bonus Item Boxes have been removed from the Act.

24 Find the Medals. Find the Medal in Plant Kingdom, Act 1 within 2'00"00. Marine A medal is obtained, viewable in "Items" menu option.

25 Do a Trick. Perform 30 Tricks on Plant Kingdom, Act 1 within 0'30"00. Muzy "Windmill Village Mode 1" (#037) is added to Sound Test.
  • Performing Trick Actions, Humming-Top, Hop Jump, Axel Tornado, Jump Step will count as a Trick for completing the Mission as long as they increment a combo. Hence if the player performs any of the latter four moves before performing a Trick Action, it will not count as a Trick required for the Mission.
  • The Mission is failed if the timer expires.
26 Get a Combo. Do 12 Trick Combos on Plant Kingdom, Act 1 within 0'30"00. Muzy "Sea Map" (#045) is added to Sound Test.
  • Mission is completed when the player performs a 12-step Trick Combo in one go.
  • The Mission is failed if the timer expires.
27 Reach the Goal within the time limit. Reach the Goal of Plant Kingdom, Act 2 within 1'20"00. Muzy "Plant Kingdom Act 2" (#004) and "Plant Kingdom Invincible" (#005) are added to Sound Test.
  • The Mission is failed if the timer expires.
28 Find the Medals. Find the Medal in Plant Kingdom, Act 2 within 2'00"00. Marine A medal is obtained, viewable in "Items" menu option.

29 Defeat the Enemies. Defeat 8 Enemies on Plant Kingdom within 0'40"00. Muzy "Act Clear" (#046), "Sonic 2" (#080) and "Blaze 2" (#090) are added to Sound Test.
  • The Mission is failed if the timer expires.
30 Defeat the boss with only one Ring. Defeat the Ghost Rex with only 1 Ring. Muzy "Boss" (#027) is added to Sound Test.
  • The one Ring is granted to the player right from the beginning of the boss battle.
  • All Rings have been removed.
31 Reach the Goal within the time limit. Reach the Goal of Machine Labyrinth, Act 1 within 1'40"00. Muzy "Machine Labyrinth Act 1" (#006) is added to Sound Test.
  • The Mission is failed if the timer expires.

  • Performing Trick Actions, Humming-Top, Hop Jump, Axel Tornado, Jump Step will count as a Trick for completing the Mission as long as they increment a combo. Hence if the player performs any of the latter four moves before performing a Trick Action, it will not count as a Trick required for the Mission.

  • Each time the player touches the correct flag, a sound effect plays and the timer is adjusted accordingly to suit the time taken to reach the next flag.

  • Mission is completed when the player performs a 20-step Trick Combo in one go.
  • The Mission is failed if the timer expires.
91 Pass through all the flags. Pass through all the flags on Hidden Island 8 in order. Muzy "Big Swell" (#031) is added to Sound Test.
  • The player needs to pass through all 29 flags (numbered 1-29) in that order before the timer expires.
  • Each time the player touches the correct flag, a sound effect plays and the timer is adjusted accordingly to suit the time taken to reach the next flag.
  • The Mission is failed if the timer expires.
92 Pass through all the flags. Pass through all the flags on Hidden Island 12 in order. Muzy "Big Swell - Allegro" (#032) is added to Sound Test.
  • The player needs to pass through all 18 flags (numbered 1-18) in that order before the timer expires.
  • Each time the player touches the correct flag, a sound effect plays and the timer is adjusted accordingly to suit the time taken to reach the next flag.

93 Collect the Rings. Collect 50 Rings on Hidden Island 14 within 0'50"00. Muzy "Big Swell Clear" (#048), "Sonic 4" (#082) and "Blaze 4" (#092) are added to Sound Test.
  • All Ring Bonus Item Boxes have been removed.
  • The Mission is failed if the timer expires.
94 Defeat the Enemies. Defeat 15 Enemies on Hidden Island 15 within 0'30"00. Muzy "Cutscene - Big Swell" (#067) and "Cutscene - Big Swell Clear" (#068) are added to Sound Test.
  • The Mission is failed if the timer expires.
95 Reach the Goal within the time limit. Reach the Goal of Hidden Island 16 within 1'00"00. Muzy "End Credits" (#069) is added to Sound Test.
  • The Mission is failed if the timer expires.
96 Reach the Goal. Reach the Goal in the Wave Cyclone. Norman "Waterbike" (#057) is added to Sound Test.
  • Unlike previous Missions, the player plays a special sea course with the Wave Cyclone.
  • The player can restart the Mission on the Pause menu.
97 Reach the Goal. Reach the Goal in the Ocean Tornado. Norman "Sailboat" (#058) is added to Sound Test.

100 Clear All Missions. Clear the other 99 missions! Marine A carving of Sonic's head is embedded on Deep Core.
  • This Mission is automatically unlocked after the previous 99 Missions are completed.
  • The player does not play a level upon selecting it and is instantly treated to the reward.
