Mobius is the main setting of the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog television series. It is best known as the home planet of Sonic the Hedgehog. On several occasions, Dr. Ivo Robotnik has tried to conquer all of Mobius, only to have his plans thwarted at every turn by Sonic and his allies.

Description[]

Overall, Mobius is similar to the real-life Earth, albeit abstract and cartoony, its surface being warped in a cartoon-like fashion. It is mostly blue in color due to most of its surface being covered by water. Numerous different environments can be found on Mobius, including jungles, cities, asylums, and junkyards.

Mobius is a free and relatively peaceful world, with the different regions of the planet being ruled by a quadrumvirate and/or president. It is also said that Dr. Ivo Robotnik has conquered part of Mobius.[1]

Numerous diverse species, such as humans, anthropomorphic animals, merhogs, sausage people and other oddities, inhabit Mobius.

Past[]

Created years after the Big Bang, Mobius was home to several species in the prehistoric era, including dinosaurs and bears. According to the legend, there was a volcanic eruption in the volcano where the Chaos Emerald of Life was originally located.[2]

Thousands of years ago, Robotnikhotep I and an unnamed hedgehog were mummified and interred in a pyramid in Mobigypt, where they slept within separate sarcophagus.[3] Millennia later, Masonic the Hedgehog, said to be the fastest bricklayer in Mobigypt, married Penelope, a chili dog vendor.[3]

Near the present day, Mobius would be enveloped in a large-scaled war.[2][3]

Over thirty years ago, the future tyrant Dr. Ivo Robotnik attended High School. However, he eventually got expelled. Afterward, Robotnik began his villainous career. When he built his fortress, he imprisoned Lucas, the person who had won Robotnik's one love, Lucinda, in his dungeon.[4]

Five years ago, Dr. Robotnik sent his cousin, Dr. Warpnik, to the Warp of Confusion, as Robotnik had been fed up with Warpnik's looney behavior.[5]

A few years before the present day, a teenage hedgehog named Sonic met Miles "Tails" Prower, an orphanage fox, and decided to adopt him as his younger brother.[6]

Recently, Dr. Robotnik called many of his old bounty hunter Badniks to a convention, where he told them to catch Sonic. However, they were all destroyed by Sonic. In response to this, Robotnik created the Super Special Sonic Search and Smash Squad, a robot squad designed specifically to catch the hedgehog. However, the squad was hopelessly ineffective, and their first mission ended in a failure.[7]

At some point, Dr. Ivo Robotnik roboticized Has Bean.[8]

Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine[]

Recently, Dr. Ivo Robotnik created the Mean Bean-Steaming Machine in order to turn the beans that inhabited Beanville into robot slaves, so they could help him get rid Mobius of music and fun. However, Has Bean managed to destroy the machine and save his friends.

Trivia[]

  • The name Mobius may be a reference to a shape known as the Möbius strip, a shape with no clear start or end that appears to have multiple sides, when in fact there is only one.
  • Mobius is inhabited by at least ninety million people.[9]
