Nekronopolis was a massive city, created by Enerjak with his Chaos powers after he freed himself from the ruins of Mount Fate. It was built on the site of Echidnaopolis, and was meant to be the capital of Enerjak's new empire. Instead, it was the battleground where he faced Knuckles in a brutal hand-to-hand contest. When Enerjak was launched into space aboard his citadel, courtesy of Locke and the Chaotix, the rest of the city disappeared.

EtymologyEdit

The name Nekronopolis is derived from the Greek νεκρός (nekros), meaning dead, and πόλις (polis), meaning city.
