Neo South Island Zone is the first Zone of Sonic the Hedgehog Pocket Adventure.
Description
The Zone is visually similar to Green Hill Zone, but the actual level layout is a condensed version of Emerald Hill Zone with more loops. Act 1 starts in the plains, while going through the hills. Act 2 has a level feature borrowed from Palmtree Panic of Sonic the Hedgehog CD. Dr. Robotnik is fought in a machine that moves like the Drill Eggman, but has a hammer in front of it that slams up and down. The concept was revisited for the Egg Hammer Tank in Sonic Advance. After the player beats him, he/she gets to the capsule and clears the Zone.
Trivia
- The music for Act 1 is a remix of Sonic World's music from Sonic Jam. This is the only theme not originally taken from Sonic the Hedgehog 3 or Sonic & Knuckles in the main game.
- The music for Act 2 is a remix of Angel Island Zone Act 1's music from Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
- Despite being called Neo South Island, the Zone takes its design from Emerald Hill Zone, a location on West Side Island.
