The Neutralizer is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It was a device used by the Knothole Freedom Fighters in their rescue of Maximillian Acorn from the Zone of Silence.

History

After repairing the device using a component obtained by Sonic the Hedgehog from Robotropolis, Rotor Walrus gave the Neutralizer to the team of Sonic, Sally Acorn, and Geoffrey St. John. The device was intended to stabilize the Zone of Silence, which was threatening to collapse and destroy everything in it. Fortunately, the trio were able to prevent this from occurring, with Geoffrey using the device to charge his jet pack in order to more easily travel before activating it and preventing the Zone's collapse.
