The Night Sky (ナイトスカイ Naitosukai?) is a Board type Extreme Gear that appeared in Sonic Riders and Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity. It is NiGHTS' character Extreme Gear, exclusivly for it, meaning only it can use it, and its default Extreme Gear. It is obtained in both games when unlocking NiGHTS as a playable character.

The Night Sky first appeared in Sonic Riders, where it could only be obtained, alongside NiGHTS, by clearing all of the Babylon Rogues' missions. The Night Sky is designed as a slightly slender board with purple and fuchsia stripes, and yellow fins at the rear.
According to its profile, the Night Sky originates from the city of Twin Seeds, and that it can only be ridden by a Nightmaren, which is NiGHTS' species.

Sonic Riders: Zero GravityEdit

The Night Sky reappeared later in Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, where it could only be obtained, alongside NiGHTS, by clearing all the missions in the Story Mode. The Night Sky has in this game received a noticable redesign; rather than its sleek and smooth design in Sonic Riders, it is much more bulky in appearance, almost as if it had been encased in armor, with two fin-like exhaust ports on each side of the rear. It is primarily colored purple, with golden outlines, and has two orange stars on top.
In this game, the Night Sky is the dreams of people given physical form. It is said, however, that should people cease to dream, it would cause the Night Sky to disappear.

- Air Ride: Turns the Night Sky into an Air Ride type Extreme Gear, allowing it to glide through the air and Dash Rings.
