The President

Old Man Owl (執事 Shitsuji?), as Sonic the Hedgehog calls him, is a character that appears in Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie. He is an old owl who serves as the President's messenger. He either has bad eyesight or poorly-made glasses.

History

Old Man Owl first appears in the film to tell Sonic and Tails that the President has a message for them, and then stays at Sonic and Tails' island to take care of their house. After Hyper Metal Sonic arrives, he forces the owl to dress in Sonic's sport clothes, which the owl greatly enjoys. He then becomes an annoyance to Tails and the President as he constantly dances around with a freestyle. In the end, he pilots the President's aircraft to the frozen icecaps, and is saved from an explosion by Metal Sonic.

Personality

Old Man Owl gets scared easily and slow-wittedness. He is absent-minded and very senile, always yelling at the top of his lungs and doing odd things at random. He claims to have weighed pretty popular with the ladies when he was young.

Trivia

  • During one scene, Old Man Owl can be seen dancing and can be heard singing the lines "Who's in the bread box kicking out dough? Owl's in the bread box kicking out dough." This is a reference to a line from the Charlie Daniels Band song, "The Devil Went Down to Georgia", which actually says "chicken in the bread pan, picking out dough".
