The Pata-Bata is a character that appears in the Sonic the Comic series published by Fleetway Editions. It is a butterfly-based Badnik variant created by Dr. Ivo Robotnik. It is described as one of Robotnik's more advanced Badnik models.[1]

A large number of Pata-Batas were stationed in the Palmtree Panic Zone until B.A.R.F. arrived, having been ordered to relocate them to the Green Hill Zone. While the Pata-Batas came along with the other Badniks, they did not want to share a Zone with outdated Badniks, and obliterated the locals in a violent frenzy. Shortly after, these Badniks were attacked by a group of super-Badniks called the Seven Badniks, created by B.A.R.F, to bring them under control. One Pata-Bata tried fighting back, but it and the other Badniks were no match against the Seven. The Pata-Batas and the remaining Badniks were thus forced back home where Sonic swiftly destroyed them.[1]

  • The Pata-Bata is the only named Palmtree Panic Zone Badnik that appeared in its four-part debut story, "The Seven Badniks."
