Saving Mobini

A Pecky on Mighty's head, from Sonic the Hedgehog #265.

The Pecky is a creature that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. They are a race of diminutive penguin Mobinis inhabiting Sonic's World. The Peckies are constantly captured by Dr. Eggman who uses them as batteries for his various Badniks.

Description

Anatomy

The general Pecky bears several similar traits to the macaroni penguin. Rather diminutive, they have a round-shaped head with two large black eyes, a soft orange beak, small cheeks, a smaller round torso, medium-sized wings compared to their body, and two orange three-toed webbed feet. Their plumage is mainly black with a white belly, and they have a wide yellow hair turf on their head.

History

Hunted and freed

Following Dr. Eggman's uprising, the Peckies have perpetually been kidnapped by the Eggman Empire to be used as power sources for the Badnik Horde employed by Eggman and his various Egg Army factions. Over the course of time, the New Freedom Fighters and other parties have freed countless Peckies from their robot shells during their battles with Badniks.

Shattered World Crisis

Note: From the readers point of view, this picks up from where the Peckies' original timeline ended.

When the Shattered World Crisis began, the Peckies were amongst many of the animals caught up in crumbling landmasses caused by the planetary break-up.[1]
