Perfect Chaos is a transformation that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is the super form attained by Chaos after absorbing the negative energy of seven Chaos Emeralds or of something equivalent to them. While in this form, Chaos was known as the God of Destruction in the past.

Appearance[]

Standing as vastly more different than any of Chaos' previous forms, Perfect Chaos is a several-stories-tall monster composed entirely of water. Its head resembles a snake with razor-sharp teeth and a large mouth that extends far beyond its eyes, which are green and have slit-like pupils. It also has flaps of skin hanging from just behind its eyes, pumps down its neck, and a fin on top of its head which contains its organic brain. Also, the base of its body merges with the water below it in a huge cyclone with two tentacles extending from its base.

History[]

Past[]

Perfect Chaos' first attack

Perfect Chaos' first attack, from Sonic the Hedgehog #213.

Centuries ago, Chief Pachacamac of the Knuckles Clan and his men attacked the shrine in the Mystic Ruins, home of Chaos and its family of Chao that it protected, to seize the Chaos Emeralds there to further their war efforts, injuring both the Chao and their friend Tikal in the process. Outraged over these actions, Chaos used the Emeralds to become Perfect Chaos and destroyed Pachacamac and his men, along with their entire civilization, to protect its family. However, Perfect Chaos, now corrupted by rage, would not stop its rampage and would have destroyed the rest of Mobius had it not been for Tikal and the Seven Sever Chao. While the Severs drained Perfect Chaos of its power—thus transforming them into the Super Emeralds—Tikal sealed herself and Chaos in the Ancient Onyx.[2][3]

Perfect Chaos' attack[]

In 3236, Chaos was freed by Dr. Eggman who sought to transform it into Perfect Chaos and use it as a weapon to conquer Mobius with. Still filled with rage, Chaos stayed under Eggman's control while the doctor gathered the Chaos energy it needed to continue its rampage.[3][4][5] When Eggman failed, Chaos rebelled against Eggman and went on alone. Using the Super Emeralds, Chaos became Perfect Chaos again.[6]

Perfect Chaos vs Super Sonic

Perfect Chaos vs Super Sonic, from Sonic the Hedgehog #84.

Emerging in Station Square, Perfect Chaos began destroying the ancient city with a destructive flood. Shortly into its rampage, Perfect Chaos was confronted by Eggman on the Egg Carrier, who sought to reclaim his servant, but Perfect Chaos blew the vessel up with a single energy beam. As Perfect Chaos seemed unstoppable, it had the Super Emeralds pulled out of it by Tikal, who delivered them to Sonic the Hedgehog. Using the Super Emeralds, Sonic transformed into Super Sonic and engaged Perfect Chaos.[6] As the enraged Perfect Chaos fought back however, Super Sonic found himself in a deadlock with the beast, unable to weaken it enough to bring it down. As Perfect Chaos began to tire out, Super Sonic lured it into a power plant just as Knuckles brought the power back on, electrocuting Perfect Chaos. Chaos subsequently reverted back to his original state, now made peaceable again thanks to Super Sonic's power, while the Super Emeralds transformed back into the Seven Server Chao.[7]

Powers and abilities[]

With the power of seven Chaos Emeralds' negative energy, Perfect Chaos is a nigh-unstoppable monster[1] with unprecedented size and power on a god-like scale which is said can easily lay waste to the entire world. In a fight, it was able to battle even the mighty Super Sonic to a standstill.[7]

Perfect Chaos' hydrokinetic powers in this form have been enhanced to unprecedented heights, reaching the point where it can control entire floods and flood Station Square in a matter of seconds with colossal tidal waves and local water sources. Being made of liquid, Perfect Chaos is nearly indestructible and can mimic the properties of water. It has complete control over its physical structure, allowing it limited shapeshifting, such as changing its shape into fluid liquid, and if dissipated, it can reconstitute itself again. Due to its size, Perfect Chaos has enormous strength, destroying entire buildings with just one strike and can hit with enough force to make even Super Sonic feel dazed despite his invulnerability.[6][7]

Perfect Chaos also has the ability to project an immense energy beam from its mouth which packs enough power to obliterate the Egg Carrier with a single shot.[6]
