Purpose	Powers up attacks for each specific playable character.
Description	A floating, blue, red or yellow orb.

A Power Core (パワーコア, Pawākoa^?) is a Level Up Item that appears in Sonic Heroes.

It can be obtained by defeating enemies, touching a checkpoint or from completing Bobsled/Trolley sections successfully. It can also be found as an item box. Each character of a team can have a maximum number of three Power Cores.

Types

There are three types of Power Cores, each one corresponding to a different skill type.

• Blue = Speed
• Red = Power
• Yellow = Fly

A Power Core of a certain color levels up the character of the corresponding skill type.

Use

A Power Core levels up the characters so that they become more powerful and in turn, deal more damage to enemies or receive new properties. The statistics that can be leveled up are as follows:

Speed

• Homing Attack/Jump Dash (at level 3, it grants Tornado Jump properties which can activate poles, remove enemy shields etc.)
• Rocket Accel
• Solo Attack
• Increased running speed/acceleration

Power

• Fire Combination
• Increased damage

Fly

• Thunder Shoot (at level 3, it also attracts nearby Rings)
• Increased Flight Gauge
