Homebound Saga

The President and his subordinates, having taken notice of the Time Suspension Phenomenon, called Chuck Thorndyke to permission him to get Project Homebound underway. Soon, Tails and Chuck got to work on a portal to send them home. The next morning, the President reported about Project Homebound and the plan to send the new friends they made back to their world.[2]

That night, many of the inter-dimensional inhabitants said their final goodbyes before leaving through the portal to their own world. When Sonic attempted to follow them, however, he was prevented from doing so due to Chris closing down the machine and dragging Sonic away, effectively halting Project Homebound.[2]

However, while Chris and Sonic were alone, Sonic and Chris had a heart-to-hear, which let Chris allow Sonic to return home. Sonic then used the Chaos Emeralds in order to invoke Chaos Control on his own, thereby bringing an end to Project Homebound.[3]
