The Propeller Hammer (プロペラハンマー, Puroperahanmā^?) is a move used by Amy Rose in Sonic Heroes and makes a cameo in Sonic Generations. It allows Amy to temporarily fly by spinning her trademark Piko Piko Hammer.

DescriptionEdit

When using the Propeller Hammer, Amy jumps into and pulls out her Piko Piko Hammer. She then begins swirling around with her Piko Piko Hammer in a manner similar to a Helicopter rotor, which allows her to hover over gaps and bottomless pits. This flight ability only last for a few seconds however, before it no longer can be sustained and Amy will drop. This is done in gameplay by holding down the A/X button in mid-jump. When using the Propeller Hammer, Amy leaves a trail of pink hearts.

The traveling distance of the Propeller Hammer can be increased however, by performing a sequence of moves; first use the Propeller Hammer, then use the Tornado Jump before running out of flight, then resume the use of the Propeller Hammer, etc.

In a Challenge Act in Sonic Generations, Amy appears to have perfected this move and can use it to fly through the air and change her height at will.
