Added by SupermorffPterodactyls are flying, green-scaled reptilian creatures native to planet Mobius in the continuity of Fleetway Editions' Sonic the Comic. The Apterix ranchers of the Mobian Prairie (such as Rooster and Chito) use them to herd the giant, flightless Apterix over long distances.[1]
After Knuckles helped to save Rooster's life and livelihood from the schemes of Boss Krouch, Rooster gifted Knuckles with his own pterodactyl to return to the Floating Island with his ancient chest of documents.[2] Knuckles used the pterodactyl to fly first to the Metropolis Zone,[3] and then back home to the Floating Island.[4]
