The Quantum Beam[1] is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It was a weapon mounted on the Battle Cruiser capable of sending its targets to parallel Zones.

Description[]

Appearance[]

The Quantum Beam resembles a dark green cannon attached to the underside of the Battle Cruiser.[1]

Features and traits[]

When activated, the Quantum Beam fires a orange laser capable of teleporting individuals and objects into parallel Zones, which features a large area of effect, enough to target almost the entirety of the Floating Island with a single blast.[1]

History[]

Usage by the Dark Legion[]

During an invasion, Dark Legion fired the Quantum Beam at the Floating Island from the Battle Cruiser, destroying a large section of it, and teleporting all caught within the blast to a parallel Zone. The Quantum Beam was soon fired again at the island, freeing Tobor and Kragok from the Twilight Zone, although their freedom was short lived as Tobor soon thrust both himself and Kragok into the beam, killing them. However, the teleportation effects of the Quantum Beam were later reversed by Chaos Knuckles, who returned all those teleported by the beam back to the Floating Island.[1][2][3]

Destruction[]

The Quantum Beam was later presumably destroyed along with the rest of the Battle Cruiser during the Eggman Empire's invasion of Angel Island.[4]
