Race Bots are a group of robot vehicles designed and programmed by Ivo Robotnik to destroy Sonic during the Mobius 5000. Like most of Robotnik's loyal robots, they aim to please their creator and desire personal recognition.

The Bots

ScraperEdit
Scraper is a bulldozer type robot who shows off his power by flattening Wallace A. Ditso and his car. He follows Robotnik's plan B. which was to cause an avalanche on Sonic, Tails and Professor Caninestein. Scraper would have been successful if the three heroes were not saved by Scratch and Grounder out of jealousy for the Race Bots. Sonic makes a sign saying shortcut to finish line. Hoping to win the race and receive all the glory, Scraper followed the danger sign which really lead him off a cliff.
ScorpionEdit
Scorpion was given plan A. which was to distribute tacks on the road to stop Sonic. Sonic blows the tacks back on him. Scorpion then shocks Sonic's car with his long stinging tail. Sonic drives under a power line and Scorpion follows. Scorpion's tail touches the wires and he gets electrocuted. Scorpion also speaks in a tough Australian accent.
SpeedoEdit
Robotnik tells Speedo to drag race with Sonic in Chemical Plant Zone. Using sharp tire spikes, Speedo knocks the heroes into toxic chemicals. Sonic and company make a comeback and buzz sliced Speedo in half. Both halves fall into the chemicals. note: his name is a pun on the sportswear company of the same name (Speedo).
Ex-MotoEdit
Ex-Moto is a Motor scooter robot with a number of gadgets. At the start of the race he squirts Sonic's tires with blue glue, giving the hero a bad start. After the other three race bots are defeated, Robotnik tells Ex-Moto to forget Sonic and win the race. Ex-Moto uses his suction cup tires to drive over the traffic in Casino Night Zone. Sonic catches up through the Special Zone and jumps on top of Ex-Moto. Holding onto his head, Sonic controls the robot and makes him crash.[1]
