STC63-Receptionik

Receptionik from Sonic the Comic #63. Art by Richard Elson.

Receptionik is a character that appears in the Sonic the Comic series published by Fleetway Editions. She is a Badnik who acts as a secretary and personal assistant to Doctor Robotnik. She is a frequent witness to Robotnik's tantrums, and once warned Grimer not to bother the Doctor because he was in "an ugly mood".

Appearance

STC21-Receptionik

Receptionik's first appearance in Sonic the Comic #21. Art by Richard Elson.

In Receptionik's first appearance, she had the obviously appearance of a female, with longer hair and a metallic bow, and seemed intended to fit the sassy secretary stereotype. In later appearances, she became rather more androgynous, losing the bow and gaining spectacles.

History

Receptionik first served in Robotnik's Egg Fortress in the Special Zone,[1] before being transferred (along with the rest of Robotnik's operations) to Citadel Robotnik in the Metropolis Zone.[2] She was destroyed along with his Citadel when he was finally defeated by Sonic following the Electromagnetic Pulse.[3]

Trivia

  • In the original script for "Girl Trouble, Part 1" (then called "Sonic's Girlfriend, Part 1"), Receptionik was not a robot but a nameless human secretary, suggested to be drawn in a weird, cartoony style.[4]
