STC63-Receptionik

Receptionik, from Sonic the Comic #63. Art by Richard Elson.

Receptionik is a character that appears in the Sonic the Comic series published by Fleetway Editions. She is a Badnik who acts as a secretary and personal assistant to Doctor Robotnik. She is a frequent witness to Robotnik's tantrums, and once warned Grimer not to bother the Doctor because he was in "an ugly mood".

Appearance[]

STC21-Receptionik

Receptionik's first appearance, from Sonic the Comic #21. Art by Richard Elson.

In Receptionik's first appearance, she had the appearance of a woman, with long hair and a metallic bow, and seemed intended to fit the sassy secretary stereotype. In later appearances, she became rather more androgynous, losing the bow and gaining spectacles.

History[]

Receptionik first served in Robotnik's Egg Fortress in the Special Zone,[1] before being transferred (along with the rest of Robotnik's operations) to Citadel Robotnik in the Metropolis Zone.[2] She was destroyed along with his Citadel when he was finally defeated by Sonic following the Electromagnetic Pulse.[3]

Trivia[]

  • In the original script for "Girl Trouble, Part 1" (then called "Sonic's Girlfriend, Part 1"), Receptionik was not a robot but a nameless human secretary, suggested to be drawn in a weird, cartoony style.[4]
