Regal Ruin (リーガルルーイン[2] Rīgarurūin?) is the third of five courses in Sonic R.

Description[]

Regal Ruin is an arid, desert race course, filled with sand-blasted ruins and secret passageways. It also has many shortcuts and small routes that can cause the player to get lost or to finish the race more quickly.

Sonic Token locations[]

By collecting the five Sonic Tokens hidden around Regal Ruin, the player can unlock the hidden character Eggrobo. Their locations are as follows:

  1. Just past two of the sphinxes that resemble Knuckles, go up the ramp to find the Sonic Token.
  2. Before the second of the two small bridges, run up the hill on the right to find the Sonic Token.
  3. By jumping onto the second red Spring along the course, the playable character will fly right into the third Sonic Token.
  4. Once in the middle portion of the map, ignore the signs pointing right and duck into the passage to the left in order to find the Sonic TOken.
  5. Along the main track is, a gap in the road will eventually appear. Hop over said gap to find the final Sonic Token.

Chaos Emerald locations[]

Regal Ruin is home to two of the seven Chaos Emeralds: yellow and orange. Near the sphinxes on the course it a 50-Ring Ring Gate. By unlocking it, the yellow Chaos Emerald will be found. As for the orange Chaos Emerald, there is an extremely steep ramp with a 20-Ring Ring Gate atop of it. By unlocking this Ring Gate, the orange Chaos Emerald can be claimed.
