Transforms Badniks into Gold Rings

— Description, Sonic Jump Fever

Ring Time is a power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. When using Ring Time, the user turns nearby enemies into Rings.

Game appearances[]

Sonic Generations[]

Ringtime

Classic Sonic using Ring Time, from the console/PC version of Sonic Generations.

When using Ring Time in the console/PC version of Sonic Generations, Sonic is surrounded by an atom-like "shield" that lasts for fifteen seconds. Any enemies that get near Sonic during this time will then be turned into Rings. This Skill can be used up to five times during an Act, which is indicated by the number of Ring Time icons (depicting a Moto Bug and a Ring) underneath the screen's Ring counter. To activate Ring Time in gameplay, the player must press PSTriangleButton/XboxY.

To unlock Ring Time, the player can buy it at the Skill Shop for 3500 Shop Points after clearing the Ring Time Challenge. It can only be equipped to Classic Sonic and costs 60 Skill Points to be equipped. The music that plays when using Ring Time is the Special Stage theme from Knuckles' Chaotix.

In Sonic Jump (2012), Ring Time appears as a power-up that can be found in Item Boxes. When used, the player is surrounded by a golden ring and golden sparkles for a limited time. Whilst using Ring Time, any enemies that the player gets near will turn into a group of Rings, which the player can collect.

The Ring Time power-up can also be purchased in the game's shop for two hundred Rings or six hundred Rings for a x5 bundle. Additionally, Ring Time can be upgraded to improve its performance.

Sonic Jump Fever[]

In Sonic Jump Fever, Ring Time appears as a power-up that is randomly obtained from Item Boxes when playing as Tails or Silver. Its function is identical to how it worked in Sonic Jump (2012). The player can refresh the duration of Ring Time by collecting additional Ring Time Item Boxes. One can also extend its base duration by upgrading each individual user with Rings.
