The Egg Station,[1] also known as Robotnik's Space Station,[1] or the Egg-Satellite,[2] is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is a space station comprised of a group of satellite units created by Robo-Robotnik in his dimension.

Known satellite units[]

Original unit[]

Robo-Robotnik began construction of the first satellite slightly before his defeat, with its intended use unknown. When his original Roboticized body was destroyed, Robo-Robotnik uploaded his consciousness to this satellite at the last moment to save himself. Unfortunately, the satellite was far from complete at the time, and there was little Robo-Robotnik could do apart from operate its systems until it would eventually run out of power. However, following a visit from his prime counterpart, (who had been teleported to the station by his renegade creation E.V.E.) Robo-robotnik was inspired to continue the fight, and secretly scanned his mind for the location of the Giant Borg piece located in the native reality, before sending Robotnik back to the Prime Zone.[3]

B-Sat unit[]

The B-Sat unit was created in Robo-Robotnik's native dimension, but was later transported to Mobius Prime and used by him to remotely open all of the cell doors in the Devil's Gulag, setting Snively and the Fearsome Foursome free.[4] It was later attached to all the other Robotnik satellites in Mobius Prime to form the Robotnik-Orbital Platform.[5]

O-Sat units[]

Two O-Sat unit were created in Robo-Robotnik's native dimension, but were later both transported to Mobius Prime. The first was used by Robo-Robotnik to remotely cause an avalanche in the Southern Tundra, which would have buried Sonic and Tails if not for a quick rescue by Eddy the Yeti.[6] The second O-Sat unit was later used to fire a time beam at Knothole Village, which was redirected by Sonic using a Super Emerald, reversing the temporal rift around Knothole caused by the Ultimate Annihilator, and completely transforming him into his "modern" design.[7] Both O-Sat units were later attached to all the other Robotnik satellites in Mobius Prime to form the Robotnik-Orbital Platform.[5]

T-Sat unit[]

The T-Sat unit was created in Robo-Robotnik's native dimension, but was later transported to Mobius Prime and used by him to remotely reawaken a large Mutate Snake within the Temple of Shazamazon, which Sonic barely managed to escape by tying a knot in.[8] It was later attached to all the other Robotnik satellites in Mobius Prime to form the Robotnik-Orbital Platform.[5]

K-Sat unit[]

The K-Sat unit was created in Robo-Robotnik's native dimension, but was later transported to Mobius Prime and used by him to remotely launch several meteors at Mobotropolis, which caused much destruction, but thanks to the efforts of Sonic and the Knothole Freedom Fighters nobody was hurt.[9] It was later attached to all the other Robotnik satellites in Mobius Prime to form the Robotnik-Orbital Platform.[5]

R-Sat unit[]

The R-Sat unit was created in Robo-Robotnik's native dimension, but was later transported to Mobius Prime and used by him to remotely deploy a giant Mutate squid at West Robotropolis, which grabbed Snively and Bomb, the latter of which exploded, appearing to take the squid and Snively with him. In reality, Snively was instead teleported onboard one of the satellites.[10] It was later attached to all the other Robotnik satellites in Mobius Prime to form the Robotnik-Orbital Platform.[5]

N-Sat unit[]

The N-Sat unit was created in Robo-Robotnik's native dimension, but was later transported to Mobius Prime and used by him to remotely hijack Maximillian Acorn's support broadcast, replacing it with a retelling of the history of the original Dr. Robotnik.[11] It was later attached to all the other Robotnik satellites in Mobius Prime to form the Robotnik-Orbital Platform.[5]

I-Sat unit[]

The I-Sat unit was created in Robo-Robotnik's native dimension, but was later transported to Mobius Prime and used by him over Knothole Village to merge with the other Robotnik satellites in Mobius Prime to form the Robotnik-Orbital Platform.[5]

Robotnik-Orbital Platform[]

The Robotnik-Orbital Platform was a space station comprised of all the Robotnik satellites in Mobius Prime and used by Robo-Robotnik to recapture all the Robians and draw the Freedom Fighters away from Mobotropolis so he could take it over. Fooled by his trap, the Freedom Fighters infiltrated the Robotnik-Orbital Platform, and were met by Robo-Robotnik and his army of Shadowbots. After a brief fight, Robo-Robotnik trapped the Freedom Fighters in an Egg-cell, which was later deactivated by Snively. Although Robo-Robotnik managed to send most of the Robians back to Mobius in an escape shuttle, his robotic body and the Robotnik-Orbital Platform were destroyed by a bomb Sally planted on it, with the Freedom Fighters themselves (plus Snively) barely managing to escape before the explosion.[5]
