Rocky-Coaster

Rocky-Coaster is a racetrack that appears in the Wii version of Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing. It is one of three tracks in the game that are based off Carnival Town, as well as the first course of the Samba Cup.

Description

Near the start of the course, there is a long hallway draped in tacky bluish-purple carpet. The course is one long, gentle corner for the next bit, but rivals like to pelt each other with weapons throughout. There's additional trouble in the form of ghosts that drop from the ceiling and huge scythes that swing across the track. Neither hazard is particularly difficult to avoid if anticipated, but opponents can distract the player and make him/her forget about the danger.

Floating star balloons similar to the ones in Jump Parade are also found here. Another hazard further along the track isn't so obvious. As players race along the passageways where waterfalls decorate the sides, they might feel relatively secure. Sudden horn blasts, however, push racers to the side of the track. This can cause cars to topple right off the track and lose precious seconds in the process.

Music

For Carnival Town/Carnival Island-located tracks, such as Rocky-Coaster, these are the following tracks selectable for the course:

  • Vamos a Carnaval
  • Carnaval
  • Mambo de Verano
  • Bum Bum

Trivia

  • This course is replaced by Sun Fair in the Nintendo DS version on Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing.
  • The spider obstacles, however, don't appear on the Wii version, making the track much easier.
