Rudyard[1] is a character in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. He is a mobian polar bear who was subjected to Roboticization during the First Robotnik War.
Appearance[]
In his robian form, Rudyard is a metallic white-colored polar bear with red eyes, a blue nose, and a slightly darker patch on his chest. Rudyard is also very tall compared to regularly-sized mobians.[1]
History[]
Past[]
At some point during the First Robotnik War, Rudyard was Roboticized, and sent to work in Robotropolis as a mindless slave. However, Sir Charles Hedgehog eventually used a Power Ring to restore his free will, and later assisted him by opening a hatch for Bernadette Hedgehog.[2]
Brave New World[]
Following Robotnik's death, Rudyard helped free a trapped Arlo Armadillo from under a pile of stone rubble.[1]
The Last Robian[]
Rudyard was presumably de-roboticized by the Bem along with all the other robians (except Jules Hedgehog) in 3236.[3]
Personality[]
Although little of Rudyard's personality in known, he appears to have a kind demeanor, as he comforted Arlo Armadillo after rescuing him from under a pile of rubble.[1]
Powers and abilities[]
Rudyard possesses great strength, being able to lift a large chunk of stone rubble with ease.[1]
Trivia[]
- Although never shown, Rudyard is implied to have met Sonic sometime prior to Sonic Super Special #2, as Sonic refers to him by name, and expresses familiarity with him.[1]
