Features and abilities

Sonic Adventure DX 2016-08-10 15-59-42-668

Two Satellites freezing Sonic.

The Satellite is capable of hovering in midair. Like a timed bomb, it can create a cool stream of air beneath them after being deployed which can freeze nearby targets sold almost instantly. Due to its small size, the Satellite is a very weak device.

Overview

In Sonic Adventure, the Satellite is used by Dr. Eggman in order to freeze Sonic and Knuckles during their battle against Chaos 6. When Eggman drops his creations on the battle arena of Chaos 6, they will activate and hover until a certain point, at which they start to create cool air.

If the playable characters comes in contact with the Satellite's stream, he will be frozen and unable to move until the player moves the control stick. If the player manage to hit them though, the Satellites will be temporary paralyzed and can be grabbed and thrown into Chaos 6's mouth in order to freeze the monster for a short time. If Chaos 6 absorbs it with its Inhale Attack, it will be frozen too, but if the Satellite makes contact with Chaos' body, it will be destroyed without freezing Chaos.
