Segata Sanshiro is a character who appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. He was a human contestant in the Chaos Emerald Championship.

Segata Sanshiro is an average sized human with a muscular build, black curly hair, and light brown skin. He sports a white martial arts gi and a black belt.

History

Past

His past on Sonic's World, and in the grander cosmology in general, is unknown. It is unlikely he existed before the Super Genesis Wave.

Act One

Segata loses to Sonic the Hedgehog, from Sonic the Hedgehog #269.

Segata Sanshiro participated in the Chaos Emerald Championship, only to compete and lose against Sonic the Hedgehog in his first match. However, he felt no shame in losing to him and showed him respect.

Trivia

• Segata Sanshiro was a former mascot for Sega who promoted the Sega Saturn in various Japanese commercials. He made a cameo appearance in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed.
