Shaman Warpull from Sonic the Comic #28. Art by Casanovas and John M. Burns.

Shaman Warpull is a character that appears in the Sonic the Comic series published by Fleetway Editions. He is an elderly anthropomorphic fox and native of the Nameless Zone, specifically the home village of Miles "Tails" Prower. He seems to be either the leader of the Village Elders or closely affiliated with them. He is also a skilled magic user (though perhaps not on the same level as the Enchanter Kings).

Like most other residents of the Nameless Zone, Shaman Warpull believes that Tails is the hero of Mobius whose sidekick is Sonic. He frequently mispronounces Sonic's name, calling him "Tonic" and "Sonic the Hedgecutter".

History

When the cubs Jimmy and Jilly were kidnapped by the goblin Prince Catalus, Shaman Warpull sought the aid of Miles "Tails" Prower, the Nameless Zone's champion. The Enchanter Kings gave him the spell to summon Tails from Mobius by opening a portal, as well as Tails' Enchanted Battle Armour. Convinced that Tails was a hero, Warpull and the other Village Elders sent Tails north to Castle Morbidden to rescue the children.[1] When Tails returned with the cubs, Shaman Warpull congratulated him and returned him home.[2]

When the Enchanter Kings were kidnapped by Trogg and taken to the Land Beyond, Shaman Warpull summoned Tails yet again to fight his old friend Errol Blackthorn, whom Trogg had transformed into a monster. Knuckles the Echidna witnessed the summons, and initially believed that Tails was being kidnapped until the truth was revealed. However, before Tails could make any formal introductions, Shaman Warpull assumed that Knuckles was really Tails' sidekick, Sonic the Hedgehog.[3] After Knuckles defeated Errol, Shaman Warpull had him locked in the stocks until the transformation was reversed. He also showed Knuckles and Tails to the Dimension Bridge, so that they could travel to the Land Beyond and rescue the Enchanter Kings.[4] He later welcomed them back to the Nameless Zone and witnessed Trogg's transformation back into the Enchanter King Shirob.[5]
