Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed
Tokyo-To from the Jet Set Radio series
Sunshine Tour (Transformed)
Shibuya Downtown is a racetrack that appears in Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing, representing Jet Set Radio. It is one of three tracks in the game that are based off Tokyo-To, as well as the first race of the Graffiti Cup.
It returns in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, as the second race of the Classic Cup.
A futuristic city course of Tokyo-To. The hottest and ever growing district is conveniently connected to elevated highways that are still under construction. Normal traffic is present, which requires quick steering to avoid. On this course, racers will learn whether they prefer traveling on the road, soaring above it or both.
Just shy of the track's halfway point, there is an area where the track heads sharply downhill toward a dark tunnel. The easiest thing to do here is to head through that confined space and to grab items along the way. The player can also choose to head to the left or right to fly up a ramp and drive along the route overhead. This may be the better option, since the player is still able to grab an item, and will now be able to drift around a nice bend, then boost over a ramp and go flying through a glass billboard. The air there is incredible, allowing plenty of time to perform three or even four tricks and setting the player up to land just ahead of a series of boost pads.
Near the end of the course is a long curve arcing slowly toward the right as a train races along some tracks toward the left. The player can get a nice boost or two from this area, but must be careful heading back into the straight stretch. The street ahead will have a few last cars to avoid before the finish line.
For Tokyo-To-located tracks, such as Shibuya Downtown, these are the following tracks selectable for the course:
- Let Mom Sleep (No Sleep Remix)
- Sneakman (Toronto Mix)
- Funky Dealer
- Fly Like a Butterfly
- In Transformed, the music that is used is the Jet Set Radio Future remix of Let Mom Sleep, which is also Gum's All-Star theme.
