The Silver Moon Ring[1][2] (シルバームーンリング[3] Shirubā Mūn Ringu?) is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. They are sets of Ring-like objects that must all be collected within a time limit.

Description[]

Silver Moon Rings are silver-colored Rings with a crescent moon floating inside of them in their center.

Game appearances[]

Sonic Forces[]

The Silver Moon Rings first appeared in Sonic Forces. In gameplay, when the player has collected all five Red Star Rings in a stage, then all of the Number Rings in another playthrough of the stage, they will be able to collect Silver Moon Rings in subsequent playthroughs of that stage.

Similar to the Number Rings, all of the Silver Moon Rings are found within a particular section of a stage. However, Silver Rings do not need to be collected in a specific order. Instead, it is required that the player grabs them all within a set amount of time after grabbing the first one. They will start to blink once the player starts collecting them. If the time limit expires before all five rings in a set are collected, they will vanish, requiring the player to restart the stage from a point before activating them for another chance.

Collecting the Silver Moon Rings serves no benefit other than extra bonus points as well as achievements in the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam versions of the game.

Sonic Frontiers[]

In Sonic Frontiers, the Silver Moon Rings appear as a collectible in Cyber Space stages introduced in The Final Horizon update, along with Animals and Number Rings. Much like in their previous appearance, they appear in sets of five and the player is given a limited amount of time to collect them once they touch one. However, in this game the player doesn't need to fulfill any requirements in order to be able to collect them. They also shine once the player starts collecting them, as opposed to blinking.

Collecting all of the Silver Moon Rings in a Cyber Space stage awards a Lookout Koco.
