Silver Sonic v3.0 is a character who appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is the third model of the Silver Sonic line, being a successor to Silver Sonic v1.0 and Silver Sonic v2.0. It was created during Dr. Eggman's return and the launch of the Death Egg II.

Design wise, Silver Sonic v3.0 appears to be a combination of the first and second models; while it retains its bulky stature from the first model, it is also relatively slim like its second model. Silver Sonic is at least three times as tall as an average mobian, being the tallest of the Silver Sonic line. As its names states, Silver Sonic is based on Sonic the Hedgehog, colored silver and gray. It has orange colored eyes. It has seven large spines on the back of its head, and a large pointy nose. It possesses a pair of spikes on its back. Its rocket-power boots are colored red with yellow markings on its ankle joint. Silver Sonic v3.0 also has a pair of wheels on each of its boots.

First Model (v3.0)

Silver Sonic v3.0 was seemingly created before Dr. Eggman launched the Death Egg II. When Sonic the Hedgehog and Sally Acorn invaded the Death Egg, they encountered Silver Sonic v3.0, much to Sonic's delight. As Sonic "played" with the new model, Sally ran down a hallway to stop Eggman after the mad scientist stated that his new "weapon" was finished. Sally was cornered by a gun and shot, to which Sonic immediately paused the fight against Silver Sonic and ran down to save her. However, he was too late, as the Genesis Wave was activated and Operation: Clean Sweep was initiated.[1]

After Sonic used Chaos Control to revert the effects of Operation: Clean Sweep, he returned seconds before Sally's assassination, to which he took advantage of the situation by going after her instead of fighting Silver Sonic. The gun which Sally encountered then opened fire at Silver Sonic after the robot chased down Sonic to the hall. However, after Sonic and Sally cornered Eggman and were told that the mad scientist had another plan to roboticize the world via World Roboticizer, Silver Sonic reappeared to fight Sonic along with Metal Sonic. Luckily, Sally and Nicole were able to invert the roboticizer beam on the Death Egg instead of the world, destroying Metal Sonic and Silver Sonic in the process.[2]

Second Model (v3.1)

Some time later, Team Fighters–Sonic, Miles "Tails" Prower, Amy Rose, and T-Pup–chased down the Death Egg II to Feral Forest where they encountered Mecha Sally and a rebuilt Silver Sonic. While Tails and Amy would help rescue the civilians and stop Mecha Sally, Sonic would fight against Silver Sonic. After struggling to even subdue the robot, T-Pup arrived and activated an electrical beam, paralyzing Silver Sonic. The citizens of Feral Forest took this opportunity to break and deconstruct the robot down.[3]

Powers and abilities

Silver Sonic v3.0 is both a powerhouse and a fairly stealthy robot made to evenly match with its organic predecessor, Sonic. He is fast enough to keep up with Sonic, strong enough to hold itself back from Sonic's attacks, and even has moves and abilities similar to Sonic's wide arsenal of attacks. It possesses enough durability to withstand several bullets from a powerful gun that was used to kill Sally prior to the first Genesis Wave activation.[2]
