The Smile (スマイル Sumairu?) is a recurring Board type Extreme Gear in the Sonic Riders series. It is Cream the Rabbit's character Extreme Gear, exclusively for her, meaning only she can use it, and her default Extreme Gear. It is obtained in all games when unlocking Cream as a playable character.

The Smile first appeared in Sonic Riders. According to its profile, the Smile is build by Robotnik Corp. as a Flight Type for kids. It is unlocked in the game, alongside Cream, by completing the Hero Story in Story Mode.
The Smile's design in Sonic Riders is that of a smaller-than-average board with very round figures. The color scheme for the Smile is a that of a multitude of colors, with cream being the primary color. The footing for the Smile is colored yellow and is surrounded by two layers of white and orange, respectively, with a pink accent on the nose of the board.
As a Board type Extreme Gear in Sonic Riders, the Smile is well-balanced in its attributes with average statistics and an average rate of fuel-consumption, and is suited for general riding. Like most other character exclusive Extreme Gears, the Smile does not possess any unique abilities. As a default character Extreme Gear, the Smile is a well rounded board and easy to use for the beginner player.

Sonic Riders: Zero gravityEdit

The Smile made a reappearance in Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity. According to its profile in this game, it is a model from the Accevice Corp's kids line of Extreme Gear. Despite being made for kids, however, the Smile can match any Extreme Gear for adults. It is unlocked in the game, alongside Cream, by completing the Hero Story in Story Mode.
In Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, the Smile received a received a redesign. In this game, the Smile remains a small Extreme Gear, but is more bulky in structure, with the front and the rear having been made more spherical. It also possesses two exhaust ports on the rear. In terms of color scheme, the Smile primarily colored orange, with lighter orange edges, and green foot panels on the top surface.
As a Board type Extreme Gear in Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, the Smile is well-balanced in its attributes with average statistics, and is suited for general riding. Like most other character exclusive Extreme Gears, the Smile does not possess any unique abilities. However, it possesses Gear Parts that can increase its top speed and the amount of Gravity Points it can store, and transform it into an Air Ride type Extreme Gear.

Gear PartsEdit
- Max Speed Up: Increases the Smile's top speed (Requires 20 Rings).
- Air Ride: Turns the Smile into an Air Ride type Extreme Gear, allowing it to glide through the air and Dash Rings (Requires 40 Rings).

The Smile made another reappearance in Sonic Free Riders. According to its profile in this game, it is produced by Accelovice for kids, yet using the same specs as the Extreme Gears for adults. It is unlocked in this game, alongside Team Rose's and Team Dark's story, when completing Team Heroes's and Team Babylon's stories.
In Sonic Free Riders, the Smile is given a new redesign. In this game, the Smile returns to having board-like dimensions, much like the ones it had in Sonic Riders. Its color scheme was changed slightly, however, with yellow being its primary color, while its top surface returned to being yellow, but with two decorated layers of pink and orange, respectively, surrounding its center. Also, its edges are raised slightly, making them look like accents.
As a Board type Extreme Gear in Sonic Free Riders, the Smile is, like in Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, well-balanced in its attributes, and is suited for general riding. Also, like in the previous titles, the Smile possesses no unique abilities of its own, but it can be equipped with up to two Gear Parts.
