To use Sonic’s All-Star Move, the player must have obtained an All-Star Item. When using it, Sonic gets a temporary increase in speed while one of his theme songs plays in the background. How his All-Star Move is performed depends on the game. In addition, Sonic gains a special power unique to himself, which effect also depends on the game, for the duration of the move.
Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing
In Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, Sonic’s All-Star Move is referred to as the Super Sonic. When activated, Sonic uses the power of the Chaos Emeralds to transform into Super Sonic as he jumps out of his Speed Star. After this, Sonic can use the Super Sonic Boost by pressing the action button, allowing him to boost down the track while flipping over any racer in his way. When the transformation ends, Sonic does a front-flip as he lands back in the Speed Star which cruises under him. The song that plays for the duration of the move is the Invincibility theme from Sonic Heroes.
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed
In Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, Sonic’s All-Star Move is unnamed. When activated, the Speed Star is surrounding be several Rings. This allows Sonic to use the Light Speed Attack on any other racers that are nearby by pressing the Weapon button, slowing them down. Like all other All-Star Moves, his Speed Star changes into plane mode if not already in said mode. The song that plays for the duration of the move is a remix of "Reach for the Stars" from Sonic Colors.
